 M O R T I S self-serving • free spirited • fanatical «- - - - - - - - - - - - - ❖ - - - - - - - - - - - - -» Chaos has been in Mortis’ mind since the day they hatched. They always had that distinct clarity and sense of being. Mortis didn’t have anyone around when they hatched. No dragons, at least. They didn’t mind though. They knew exactly what they needed to do with their life. Three goals became distinctly clear in their mind. They needed to defy death, help the shade, and hunt those dreaded gaolers. Clear goals for a perfectly defiant life. Perfectly defiant of the eleven, authority, and all that would seek to destroy chaos. As Mortis grew older, their purpose became so much more clear. The Tangled Wood was the perfect place for everything they hoped to accomplish in life. It became like their playground. All the cultists and shade possessed came and played with Mortis too. Mortis made plenty of delightful little friends and they had so much fun. So much fun hunting down devout followers of the eleven. Oh, it was always such delightful work. Nothing could compare to the feeling of looking down at their blood stained talons, knowing that they were progressing the work of Chaos. No one ever expected such a tiny dragon to cause so much trouble. Their hypnotic ways and sharp talons made quick work of even the largest gaoler. Mortis couldn’t help but laugh with glee every time they felled one of the great beasts. Mortis was unhinged, twitchy, and out of control. And they wouldn’t have it any other way.
