Fok2YIh.gif Children of Carthach and Dairine aren’t born - they’re made. Like their parents before them, they’re shaped out of latent elemental magic, but this time, they were created on purpose. After centuries of existence, the two nature spirits have learned how to manipulate the magic that suffuses Sornieth to create new life.

Shaped like a dragon, but unmistakably fey, any hatchling of theirs is uncomfortable for mortal dragonfolk to be around. Most don’t care, more interested in their own goals than conforming to the expectations of those around them, but some few children become experts at adapting instead. No matter what, they all have a powerful connection to the nature and earth magics that gave them form, and no one, not even their parents, know what they will become.

Most dragons have a hard time ignoring that forests have a unique vitality to them. In some places, this feeling is so concentrated that the forest feels truly alive - like the trees could move, could speak, could plan. In some places, that’s true. The trees are awake and wanting, ready to wreak havoc on unsuspecting settlements. Laoghaire is drawn to these places, his heritage giving him a connection to the trees that lets him help them. Tree-herder they call him, those awed dragons saved by Laoghaire’s singular gift. He doesn’t much care what they call him. He’s not doing it for them.
