A baby walked into the pack.
It might've sounded strange, but don't worry! She walked in because she had legs. Which he didn't have before. Because he was a snake. That agreed to becoming a dragon.
You see, AbyssCrawl was testing some poisons out. They were mixed with some of Venom's really weird potions. The snake Elixir was before had learned common dragon, so when Abyss asked him and she nodded, Abyss was surprised. But still did it.
"This is a terrible idea."
Elixir nodded.
"You are still nodding."
Elixir nodded.
"You're sure you want to quit being a snake just to become a big lizard- who might not even be the one you dreamed of?"
Elixir nodded.
Abyss poured the potion (poison? poiston?) into a bowl for easy drinking without any spills. Elixir did the only obvious thing and drunk it.
"Fur."
"Yes, that would be a Tundra."
"Smells!!"
"Yes, that would be their noses."
"WINGS!!!!"
"Yes, that would be their.." Abyss sighed. There was no way to reply in a salty manner to that.
"Take me to the.. cave! The tunnel! The home!" Elixir excitedly blurted out.
Not long after, a baby walked into the pack. Abyss lead them in, groaning. Elixir was practically bursting with excitement. "What's this? What's that?" repeated over and over. Wildfire was curious of Elixir too, and was quick to introduce them self. It wasn't too long before most pack members had seen Elixir and did the same as Wildfire.
Elixir sat next to AbyssCrawl and fell asleep on her.
Abyss grumbled. "Dumb kid."
And softly, whispered, "Oh my god, what did I get myself into?" in such a quiet tone that nobody would believe Abyss didn't care about Elixir.
The following days were spent teaching Elixir how to dragon. Elixir felt a strong passion for fishing, though it was considered boring to most, it was quite fun to him. She felt a sort of.. bond, to fishing. After eating rats and other things for most of her life, fish were quite an improvement.
Some of her body functions were still very snake-like. In the way he ate his food, what he could eat, how she hunted..
A lot of things were still the same.
Elixir settled down as part of the pack. The Breath's fisher, finally. It was a bit tiring, sending out dragons with no experience to fish, and getting the low results. She did not play around with fishing.
When Elixir got bored of fishing, and catches were lacking, he began to smell flowers. The scents fascinated him, and he tried his best to learn magic. As he quoted Abyss, 'Magic can do anything'. And he believed it. He could share the scents to everyone, and always have them around him.
He worked, and asked friends, and others, and even the scary dragons from the Barren Forest for help with his spell. Coriander was the biggest help she found in the pack, as she was smart and powerful with magic. Aurus had memorized magic recipes, chants, rituals, far more than a normal dragon would. Elixir found the perfect mix he could possibly have with what they all knew, and that was a week-long mist that spilled out with wafts of strong rose scent. Unfortunately, Coriander didn't have the mastery and preciseness needed to attach the spell to a dragon, and attaching it to an item would be much easier for Elixir.
The three walked into Virdyle's shop, asking for something that could hold a scent spell as they had made it. He shooed them off, and a week later, showed up with some sort of windchime. He explained that he'd had a little help from Tin making it, and pointed out the rope part she should enchant.
Whenever there's a jingle on the wind, and the sweet smell of roses, you can bet Elixir is a minute away, sitting at the river like always.
