A mirror hatchling showed up in the depths of the library one day, startling Loreweaver, who had gone to fetch a volume of poems for her mate. Its dull-green body quickly slithered down a twisting maze of shelves, and gave no indication of popping back out anytime soon. When the members of the clan brought treats to trap the child, they found that it was now a soft purple-grey.
The hatchling had a habit of vanishing when it wasn't being looked at, and after one such dissapearance was found as a fae. Time after time, they would return to the quiet, twisting stacks, avoiding contact with the other members of the clan.
Nobody has heard them speak, and all they do is read and eat the clan's food.
They still don't speak, but the little mystery isn't as quick to flee when a librarian approaches them. They have become more active as well; with fins twitching occasionally and joyfully, this fae has even been heard... singing?
