First there was only a seed as any other, deep in the rich soil nearest the Behemoth, but nourished by the hallowed grounds that seed grew into an egg and within is this wildclaws beginning. He had been cradled in the earth for so long, held by the roots of hundreds of trees as they nourished him with their own energy. Many years passed before this strange egg hatched beneath the surface, the shell falling away and decaying over time to leave only a young wildclaw hatchling there slumbering deeply, for he would only rise when fate decided he should. He slept there beneath the ground for an age, his tiny form kept warm and safe by the ancient roots that clung to him, but eventually his time did come and the roots would pull him to the surface where he clawed and scraped his way to freedom from beneath the earth.

The Orphan is what he's called, a dragon who stands as a manifestation of the jungle, it's very own child to walk among dragonkind and communicate it's fears and desires. As a construct of nature itself there is no other as in tune with it's condition as he. Jeigh knows when something sprouts, when something dies, when a tree is felled, when a disease spreads and every inch of growth from day to day. He can feel the pulse of life and growth in his very bones; sometimes it's like the sting of a needle, but most of the time it is a strong, coursing feeling that fills him with vigor and renewal each day, strongest in the mornings and weakest at nights. He rises and falls to the beat of the jungle, the trees telling him their stories and secrets still, guiding him with some ancient knowledge. Whatever course the Viridian Labyrinth takes, however it should change and evolve in the years to come, Jeigh will know of it first and foremost, the trees will tell him and as they change and grow so shall he.
