Biography
Wyrm
The little entity the clan has taken to calling Wyrm was brought to the clan by a travelling craftsdragon who was all too eager to get rid of it. Its creator was a tailor from the plague flight, skilled in the traditional plague craft of curing and stitching dragon hide. This little doll was a typical trinket of hers, dragon leather stuffed and sewn into a rough imitation of the Plaguebringer. What the tailor didn't know was that the scavengers she'd bought the parts from had given her hide scraps from multiple different imperials. When she started hearing strange sounds at night and finding her other dolls shredded in the morning, she threw Wyrm in a locked trunk and sold it at the first opportunity.
The clan weren't quite sure what to make of the doll. More than a few dragons suggested destroying it outright. As cute as it was, it was still properly an emperor. The Spires' scholars, on the other hand, were reluctant to destroy what might be a one-of-a-kind creature. They managed to get permission to quarantine it instead, at least long enough to figure out whether it was dangerous. The results were mixed. The miniature emperor had the aggressiveness of any other, and the irrepressible persistence of the goddess it was modeled after. On the other hand, its plush body didn't allow it to do any more than gently push itself into its would-be victims. After some debate, Wyrm was ruled to be harmless and allowed to stay.
Since then, Wyrm has become something of a mascot for the spires. Outsiders might find the casual attitude towards such a creature a bit concerning, but most just shrug it off as another of the spires' odd traditions. Students treat it as a good luck charm, and have been known to smuggle it back to their rooms as emotional support for a hard night of studying. Wyrm is still studied intermittently, and the researchers hope to use it as a safe way to understand how emperors are formed and what magic holds them together.
