10/15/2020: Few things angered Morana more than hatchling abandonment, but this was a particularly agregious case - the mirror child had been dumped here without so much as a name. She was too young to speak, and evidently whoever left her here was not kind enough to leave any sort of identification. Any sort of identity this mirror might have had - gone.


"Ariel," the wildclaw sighed, picking up the little squirming bundle dropped off at the base of the clan spires. "There. Now, you're named."

Ariel grew quickly, and tired of Morana's care just as fast. She was a rowdy child, unappreciative of the wildclaw's stories and attempts to teach her the art of the hunt. It seemed the best Morana could do for the child she had taken in was let her off on the road once more - and she did so as soon as she believe the mirror was ready for it, sending her away with a satchel of food.

10/18/2020: Ariel's second stop was a lot more... rough. While wandering through the contagion she came across what seemed to be a swamp. In the swamp a circle of buildings lay in front of her. There was actually a place for newcomers, and a way for them to become citizens. So, in hopes of gaining a new home she walked into the oddly small opening. Inside was a desk with a... hatchling holding a clipboard.

"Oh. Hello there."


"I was doing great, but now I am... fine."


"Let me guess, you came here thinking we'd give you a place to stay."


"And you were even hoping at a chance for a home?"


"Well. I am very sorry to say this but we are only looking for the most skilled and fabulous of dragons."
"And... I'm afraid you won't make the cut."

I was shocked by the blatant rudeness of his character. Absolutely no feelings were spared, it was almost like I was an item being judged.
I hope I'll never come across another dragon like that again...

Maybe the Starfall Isles would be more hospitable. Off went the mirror, out of the contagion and into spires. As she landed to rest her wings a bit, she was finding... well, not much. It was relatively quiet where she was, but then she saw a shadow pass above her. Looking up, she turned around to see a dark silhouette turning back. She braced herself, expecting something similar to her last encounter, only for a derpy-looking Bogsneak to plop--for lack of a better word--down in front of her. "Well hi there!" "I'm Naoki. You look like you could use a bite to eat. Follow me!" And off he went, back into the sky. Ariel considered this turn of events and decided... well, why not?
It didn't take long to make their way to the rather haphazard residence of mix-and-matched dragons. The only thing that was nearly-pristine was an area filled with life. A beautiful garden that had somehow taken to the rocky terrain where they were.

Gingerly, Ariel made her way to the grass and laid herself down on it, near the edge of its reach. It wasn't until she was waking that she realized she had fallen asleep. It also took her a moment to realize why she was awake. Hovering over her was another dragon.

Upon seeing her surprise, he smiled brightly and stepped back. A movement by her head drew her attention there and she noticed the Psywurm that apparently had napped along with her.

"You're welcome to keep that one close. It's not particularly attached to anyone else," came the familiar voice of Naoki, who also happened to have food for her. "I let Eustorgios know you're here. He was a little preoccupied but he said to stay as long as you need."

This place was okay, but... over the next few days, Ariel realized it was a gathering place for the oddities of the dragon world. The yellow Wildclaw that had hovered over her as in fact a living flower. What did that even mean? It was time to move on...
