There was originally a thread from 2018, where I asked for help creating the Elric brothers, prompted after coming across the Cranberry Overcoat.
I deleted it due to the disorganization (regret), so here is what I recall/noted of the process for Winry.

Winry was originally planned alongside the Elrics in the 2018 thread I had planned them in, as a fun offshoot project once I got the other three completed, and was going to be bred alongside Edward to keep the three with canonical age differences as I thought it'd be fun.

I had the brothers scried and was working on their parents, so just for fun I worked on scrying Winry too, and came up with colors that worked surprisingly well. Banana, Banana, Metals. Again, for the pun, since she's a mechanic. The banana matched her hair color extremely well and ripple just looked very nice. A wildclaw was chosen to differentiate her from the brothers, and because they're bipedal and work with their hands, with long feathers/hair to boot!

Unfortunately, not only was my lair exceedingly full at the time, too full to take in another breeding project, but there weren't many dragons being sold that fit the range needed for her parents. On top of that, finding nests and keeping space open while they were rented became an issue, as I was spending more treasure on the breeding project, and less on expansions.

I focused on the brothers and shelved Winry for a while, as she was in no way the priority for this project, but saved the search on the AH for her parents and checked back periodically, all the same.

I ended up offline for quite a while between 2018 and late 2019 due to irl things, bringing us to 2020. October I decided to see if I could find a dragon of the right colors, born in lightning flight, female and (hopefully) a wildclaw. What wasn't exalted was not promising. No wildclaws, and only 4 dragons, one of which had been exalted. Winry is 1 of 3, non exalted. One is in an inactive lair, and the other is what looks to be a well loved Electra fandragon.
Water flight was also considered, in the hopes of an older dragon to match the brothers, but the eye color didn't match as nicely, and the search was broadened to include other colors like sanddollar.

Luckily, one of the dragons in the initial search was a baby bane, who happened to be on the Auction House, and I snatched her up just in case I couldn't find an older dragon that fit the bill with scries other than my initial goal.

She is already 2 years younger than Ed and Al due to life and me not starting a project at the same time, rip in pieces. At least the brothers came out of the same nest. Might as well try for armor Al as well at this point, though I guess that can be younger given he didn't end up armor til he was 9.
Whatever, dates and ages really dont matter otherwise i could never make more fandragons cause theyd all be younger than the young protagonist ones, now im just rambling. Clean this please lmao, organize plans from original thread to throw at the bottom.

Pros to Pearlcatcher: species matches Ed- not that that really matters, morph matches bandanna AND her hair (for some reason it changes the feathers on wildclaw), actually has hair, pants fit better

Way cheaper, pearlcatcher scroll won out. 190g vs 3kg

Pros to Wildclaw: Bipedal, different species than Ed- also really doesnt matter but pros and cons to both I feel, oh i really do not like the pants. not a pro but i do not like how those look,
