Enlana is an odd Starlight elf, in the sense that she wishes to coexist with a trusted group of other elves, even those who are not of her kind. While she has been blessed with the same magical affinity as most Starlight elves, she does not trust her ability to flee from danger and instead stays in hiding in a community made safe by the other elves who are more capable of defending it.

In order to sustain herself ethically, she provides other elves - occasionally even regular dragons - with her spellworking services in return for magical items. During most nights, she also seeks the locations where the sky is the most visible and gazes upon the stars shining brightly in the darkness. Because her eyesight is poor, as is common for her kind, she is not able to make out any constellations, but the glow of the cloudy galaxies brings her comfort nonetheless.

In everyday life Enlana appears as a relatively average Elf. Unlike some others of her kind, she does not wish to make herself invisible as long as she is at home. She also eats and sleeps almost regularly, both as a social gesture and to reserve her powers. Because her eye condition cannot be improved with eyewear, she sometimes needs help with reading and writing. The second Starlight Elf who moved into the community after her, Aveil, tends to do both for her in return for some of her magic.

The Elves of Starlight, also known as Lights of Earendil, are a small-numbered variant rarely seen by either dragon or elf. Once, before the fall of elves, they were the origin of all, blessed by the stars and the Primal magic that is part of any elf; now they have become ethereal beings, caught between worlds. Their colors are a reflection of the stars themselves, their filigreed gems the last brightness left in them from a grand glory long ago.
