Though Amsterwick lives in peace, Krysia is more prepared than most for war. Trained in the archer's arts, she has long been a fixture atop the Amsterwick castle walls. Though not strictly paid to be there, it is a place she is most at home, honing her skills alongside similar warriors, alongside dragons who know what they have pledged to do.

They remind her of dragons she has lost, friends she has avenged without hesitation. She may not offer them her presence out of any warmth, but she feels a duty toward them all the same. War will come again, as it always does, and they are some of the first who will be expected to lay their lives down, should it come to that. She owes them her support, in whatever form that may take.

And perhaps they are braver for her presence. It is no secret that Krysia is a healer as much as an archer. Amsterwick knows her as the Living Font, for the crystal blue waters that flow from her jaws, healing all that they touch. Sometimes, it is not enough. Some injuries are too devastating for her magic. But it gives her fellow archers courage to know that she is on their side, ready and willing to bring them aid should they fall to enemy fire. What soldier would not take heart, knowing that death can be staved off by someone so near?

Krysia lets them have their optimism. She is patient, and knows that war will come again. There is no need to pushes the horrors of combat on her fellows when it will arrive again, sure as the sun rises each morn.
