Freyr is not the typical type of dragon who had a death of a child in her family and so walks the world caring for all others that she couldn't have. Unlike them, Freyr was drawn naturally to children not her own, and discarded that aged desire. The sounds of hatchlings entering the world, of shells broken on the ground and awkward gazes, only made her joyous. She was peaceful watching them learn, unsteady but curious. Those in the clan that brought their children were guaranteed safely hatched children.

What made Freyr even more of a guider of new life into the world was that she was renowned for her care of other clans as well. Those even in other flights brought her their parents to incubate in her nests, finding them warm and comforting, quiet and calming. Hostee after hostee, she promised all at least one child would leave with them, never an empty nest.

Freyr carries a lantern with her always, keeping the darkened paths in the nesting caverns lit as she traverses them. Even with the soft glow of the lava pools, she carries the lantern. It is her own piece of comfort as she brings comfort, steadiness, and care to others. Her calling in life was this; children of her own were never in the picture of her future. All the children she helped others bring into the world were, in a small way, her own children in spirit. And for that, she would always love every hatchling she ever cared for.

If you visit the Fire flight in the Rapid Lava Downs in the Blacksand Annex, be sure to find her nests. The gentle rings of her lantern chain pinging in the darkness has been said to be one of the most comforting sounds.
