NON-EXPENDABLE

HIVE.267's first dronebeast, a horrible abomination as a result of assimilating a Gladebeast. Massive bipedal behemoths, completely flightless and rivalling Guardian dragons in size and strength, created by the Gladekeeper to combat the threat of Emperors themselves. Somehow, the hive has gotten their talons on one of them, besting this adversary of amalgamated undead Imperials. It cost the hive some numbers and took a few praetorians to defeat the beast, but they succeeded. The consciousness was bent on having a dronebeast for himself and with his largest assimilators, completed the process and now has a hulking monstrosity standing by his side.

Gladebeasts heal quickly and are said to even be able to regrow limbs in some cases. This would definitely be a useful ability for the hive, and if it could be studied and used, that'd be even better. Praetorians are already powerful and can have such a wide range of powers based on a consciousness' desires. If the strengths of Gladebeasts are given to other drones and balanced with the resources needed to sustain such a hive, that would give them another advantage over dragonkind.

This dronebeast is no threat to be taken lightly and would be considered "average" among other beasts. Before assimilation, it was not the largest or the smallest, not the strongest or the weakest, but a force of nature nonetheless. One could argue that one of the reasons the consciousness was so persistent with this dragon is because having a dronebeast beside him could be a status symbol. Of course he has logical reasons for this because a dronebeast can be more than just a mere status symbol among the hivemind. Who wouldn't want a being so powerful as a personal bodyguard, one that needed a few of the elite guards of the hive in order to finally drop? Of course, the consciousness is going to be very selective about the fights this dronebeast partakes in. This is the only dronebeast HIVE.267 has right now and the first. Should they lose this one despite the odds, the work put into capturing it would've been a waste. But, with the advantages that come with a dronebeast under the consciousness' control, perhaps they'll be able to acquire more of them. Then they will be an even bigger threat to anyone who opposes them unless they're stopped before it's too late.
