'AMATEUR' BAKER & CARETAKER

Paschalitsa, or Pascha for short, came to Wayfarer's Rest in the way a lot of dragons do: as a traveler expecting to just be passing on through, until they realize they have something that calls them to put down roots. It just took her a while before she realized what that calling was.

In her case, what initialy encouraged her to stay longer was the friendship she struck up with the clan's nestkeeper, Odji. The two were comfortable around eachother almost instantly, and as Pascha enjoyed spending time with hatchlings, she would frequently be the first dragon to step up with extra support when the much older nestkeeper found herself overwhelmed (or just needed a smaller set of paws to tend to the hatchlings of not-Imperial sizes).

It was during an excursion to visit different carreer dragons in the clan that Pascha got to watch the clan's resident baker, Meringue, flaunt her stuff first hand. She'd always been interested in baking and would dabble in it from time to time, but she was awed by how far one could take their skills in the field, and decided she wanted to aspire to those levels as well. It was less than a day later that she approached Meringue and asked if she could study under her. Pascha didn't want to work professionaly as a baker, so she still considered the lessons to be more professional enrichment than the start of a career. Especialy since during this time she had her first next in this clan, and was taking a much more active role in her hatchlings' upbringing than most dragons tended to do at Wayfarer's Rest.

However there was one other 'intruder' frequently in the kitchen caverns at the same time as her: a grandson of one of the clan's founding members by the name of Buttercream. This impatient skydancer had grown up with a fascination of all things tea, and he was determined to try and make a mark in his area of expertise. Unfortunately he found the clan vinter frustrating to study under, and the head chef wasn't looking to add any more staff (especialy not without a more generalized knowledge in the culinary arts), so he was feeling stuck and would often vent to Pascha about it, whether she wanted to listen or not.

The final catalyst for where she ended up today was when Buttercream was over at her and her family's lair for a visit, and he mentioned wanting to just open up his own place. Pascha was about to just smile and nod as she tended to do, but her by now young-adult daughers: Trance, WitchHzel and Feng all jumped on this topic almost instantly. Apparentaly they'd been discussing plans for opening a sort of visitors center for the clan, and what if they could add a cafe or a tea house to it?! It wouldn't be compeating with the main culinary staff, and if they could handle food on their own they wouldn't have to add to said staff's already very busy schedules as well.

When WitchHazel brings up the point that even tea houses have some sort of accompyments to go along with the drinks, everyone else turns to look at Pascha, who'd been sitting quietly at the head of the table, eating her meal and only vaugely paying attention.

Which is how Pascha found herself insisting that she still only bakes for fun and her family, while still being technicaly paid (and therefore a professional) for her treats at the business her daughters manage.
