Volty considers that he got the best of the genes in his family tree, and he adores both his sire and dame.
The entire family had been under a huge curse but it was lifted when the veil fell in the shadow domain and his brother and himself traveled on. In fact the King of the Goblins ambassador to the Filou shadow clan had been in clan meetings between the Filou shadow lair and the Paratonnerre Lighting lair looking for a way to unite the 2 lairs and open up goodwill and trading as well as a nest network between them. Volty and his brother Anion volunteered to assist in this as he proud pranced around the room as only a male ridgeback does nose forward and head held high. He would prove his worth and it would be remembered. His brother on the other hand went along to ensure there wasn't any impulsive and rash I know everything behavior on Volty's part but that would never be explained to Volty because he wouldn't believe any such thing about himself.

Upon arriving in the new lair he made a point of letting everyone there know he was of course there and that he would be very glad to help any way he could but first he wanted to know when the feast in honour of his arrival would be happening. That made many a dragon in the lightning lair bristle and soon they took to ignoring the ridgeback every time he opened his maw to speak on something. It got to the point the only one willing to talk to him was slick and that frustrated Volty to no end because he didn't want to spend all day wrangling the young guardian, he didn't sign up for such! Foudre the head of the clan decided he needed more lightning technicians and took as he had deemed them "thing 1 and thing 2", Volty and slick to one of the places dragons display your abilities. They talked to many but not a one was what Foudre was seeking and then Volty saw her, a lightning specialist who had been there for a bit but there had been so many before her that the quiet and exceedingly lovely skydancer had pretty much kept to herself.

He looked and Foudre and slick and begged them to call him by his full name, because it was HIS job to make a good impression for the clan. Foudre rolled his eyes but agreed in a rumpled huff the lightning jolting out of his nose in minor irritation as Voltandrosse actually settled down and introduced himself and the other 2 members of the Paratonnerre Lighting lair to the young technician. who in turn introduced herself to them as Aellurence. At that point Volty returned to his normal ways and made a complete fool out of himself til finally slick had to drag him away so that Foudre and the she~skydancer could discuss her qualifications. It was a short talk and to the point as Aellurence was one to always keep her scrolls in order. Something she had always been proud of how organized she kept all her things. Volty came bounding back insisting that Foudre accept her just because she "looked" like a lightning dragon, which caused Foudre to cuff him upside the head and informed him. 1, that wasn't how it worked and 2, lightning dragons came in all shapes, sizes and flights. There was no such thing as"looking" like one. you either were one or you weren't you either lived in a lightning lair or you didn't. There wasn't any other way it happened.

The four of them headed back to the Paratonnerre Lighting lair, Volty attempting to be suave as he talked the she~skydancers ear off. For her part Aellurence actually liked his constant chattering at her, and if she nodded or made non committal noises he would continue. It was nice to actually have someone who was vying for her attention so in her mind she had decided to keep him. Volty was entranced with her, she was the most beautiful dragon he had ever seen. Once she was settled into the lair he visited her every single day til he finally convinced her to be his mate and ever so quietly she said yes. He is now the proud father of 4 hatchlings 3 girls and 1 boy! And all of them to him are wonderful!
