Morgan was recruited to House Galla for “disciplining,” a fact that she resented very much, and won’t let anyone forget. Why would she need discipline? Why would anyone need discipline, really? In Morgan’s mind, “discipline” is just a short way of saying, “I don’t like you, so I’m going to make you into someone I do like.” Well, that’s tough luck for anyone who doesn’t like Morgan. Because guess what? She doesn’t care. She doesn’t care if anyone doesn’t like her, because, hey, she’s not in this world to be liked; she’s in this world to do something.
Andante thought that by bringing Morgan into House Galla, and by making her part of the Sun Warriors, he could harness Morgan’s inner fury. Well, by the Lightweaver, he was right. Morgan was Andante’s second cousin once removed (or something like that??). She was born to a relatively cool and peaceful clan, of the Southern Icefield, who immediately realized the difficult task that was controlling her fiery temper. Andante brought her to House Galla, intending to make her into a warrior. She refused, of course.
That was, until she killed the wolf.
He was a tough one. Morgan had been stalking him all day, trying to restrain herself from pouncing all over him and scaring him away, so she crept after him over the grassy plain, bright eyes fixed on his golden hide. It was hours before she managed to kill him, but she did it with glee, slashing him across the neck in one bloody gesture.
Morgan cleaned the hide by herself. She’d wear it as a sign to the clan, that screw what they think, she could do this on her own.
In truth, it was exactly the opposite. When Morgan returned to House Galla, her blazing gold kill was immediately noticed. The great clan warriors were incredibly impressed, and soon, Morgan found, they were… celebrating her. They weren’t disciplining her, or yelling at her, or just being the general idiots they usually were. No, Morgan was being treated with a warrior’s welcome, and so began the process of her warming up to the clan.
Soon, her ferocious kills were in tandem with the Sun Warriors of house Galla, and she no longer ran away when asked to work together with someone. Now, her great skill in battle has led her to become leader of the Sun Warriors, and her snarling prowess has earned her the love of Voltaire, the leader-to-be of the clan. She’s still a wild child, but she now knows exactly where to direct her ferocity.
