___Ocelot's eyes snapped open. He raised his head to take in the dawn light creeping up along the horizon. Ocelot ruffled his feathers and flexed his muscles, every fiber of his being was looking forward to the hunt today. Opal wouldn't be up for another hour or so, but he could at least patrol the perimeter of the camp. He soundlessly got up and started weaving through the reed barrier sheltering them from some of the harsher currents coming off the cyclone. He froze and crouched at the sound of rustling in the reeds. Out emerged a short squatty dragon with a tropical iridescent sheen. Ocelot rose and stepped out from his hiding place towards the short dragon. The dwarf's big bright Arcane eyes lit up with fear, then recognition. "Oh it's just you Oce. I couldn't sleep, so I went for a swim." Ocelot nodded in understanding, he also did not sleep well but had no affinity for water. He watched the small dragon go back towards his den. Hoku was a odd dragon, he was full grown but had the size and personality of a hatchling and an insatiable love of water. He looked up to see the sky becoming a brilliant red and orange mixed against the purple sky dotted with the last stars of the night. Opal would be waking soon so he made his way back towards her cave to wait. ___Opal finally emerged, her gems glistening in the morning light. He stopped preening and studied Opal, trying to determine her mood. She looked solemn but knew no one would notice this but him. After spending so much time with Opal on the hunt he had grown to respect her and her soft-spoken way of running the clan. Opal was not a selfish dragon and he liked that her motives were purely about how it would affect the clan. He saw her nod and instantly was by her side and headed toward the plateau. His passion, other than training was to do three things. Hunt. Kill. Feast.
