The sole leader of the Hollow, Malbec is connected with and guards the spirits of both good and evil. They talk to and connect with spirits, helping them move on, summoning them to the mortal realm, and sealing them away if they become too troublesome. Roaming for most of her life brought her to be very resilient, strong and powerful. Now that she’s settled down and has a proper place to work, she now dedicates her time to defending and helping the spirits that travel down the reaches. While she may be physically alone, she has the many spirits she’s bonded with to keep her company and keep her safe.

Malbec is relaxed and calm, not one to go out of her way to do things for others. Most see her as a fool and reckless for being so “alone”, but she abandoned society and what it brought her ages ago. Her hardships and travels have strengthened her both emotionally and physically, able to use her massive physique and hardened body to fend for herself. Almost nothing phases her, which leaves her detached from the mortal realm. All of her emotions and passion has gone into the spiritual realm, letting down her guard around the spirits in her domain and showing only kindness and respect to them. Even with evil spirits, she is patient and understanding. There aren’t many living dragons she still associates with, but the ones she does she treats the same way she treats her spirit friends.

Her abilities are very simple: spirit connections and summoning. She uses a wide variety of materials and magic to contact spirits and bring them back over to the realm of the mortal. While she doesn’t have direct control over spirits, most spirits find her enjoyable and fight alongside her if necessary. She mainly uses these powers to help spirits pass on or find a new life they had been longing. Spirits she summons are technically corporeal and can be injured/ hurt, but cannot die again, only ‘desummoned’.

Malbec grew up in a very small clan, and abnormally quiet. She always had a detachment from her peers, always worried about her appearance and social status so she could fit in and find a place in the world easier. With time, she discovered her interests and purposes didn’t line up with the people she was around. She attempted to get into other things, but eventually gave up
everything to take on her charge to defend and help the spirits of the world. She roamed for a good chunk of her life, learning from others and helping minor cases around the world. Overtime, she grew older and weary, and eventually wanting to create her own safe haven for the spirits she helped. Eventually she was able to carve out the world she wanted, settled down, and now dedicates the rest of her life to her charge as a Guardian.
