Born to a small clutch of eggs to parents that soon left Preservation, Mika was taken in by the Clan's Founders and, at the time, current leaders - Dirk and Thea. Though slightly younger than their own fledgling children, they raised her alongside their clutch of excitable hatchlings as though she had been a part of their brood all along. Young Mika was a shy yet inquisitive hatchling, trailing behind her siblings as they explored the depths of their home lair and making a habit of poking her nose into every nook and cranny she could. Mika developed a habit of hanging around her parents as they socialized with the other elders of the clan, hanging onto their every piece of gossip with the same fervor she would with an especially well-crafted bedtime story. As she came into dragonhood, Mika's habit of listening to others turned to a great depth of understanding, and she began to take on roles of diplomacy and mediation between her clan and others. Though most meetings went smoothly, tension began growing between dragonkind and the Beastclans, and Preservation's members were not exempt from the rising dangers around them. Though loathe to resort to violence, Mika donned armor and found herself in the center of many tough battles - countless dragons, her own clanmates, were lost to the fighting, a fellow pearlcatcher named Nightshine included. Through the turmoil, he and Mika had found a commonality in each other and solace in their bond, but it couldn't last. |
Not long after the bulk of their skirmishes with the Beastclans, Dirk stepped down from the clan's leadership and Thea was exalted to serve their flight more directly. With her remaining siblings both scarred by the fighting and unwilling to fill the roles their parents had vacated, Mika found herself not only the most experienced with leadership, but also the most suited to steer the clan down a path that didn't end in violence. With a new protector at her side and the budding hopes of her clanmates on her wings, Mika donned armor symbolizing her dedication towards preserving truth, peace, and understanding; she stepped into the role of clan leader, and began rebuilding Preservation from the scraps left behind by the fighting.
However, not too long after Preservation began its recovery, a blizzard hit the Southern Icefeilds, a terrible storm that swept across the Reclaimer's Glacier, burying everything in its path in unforgiving frost and snow. In this cold, the clan's members found themselves entering a deep, enchanted sleep; a hibernation that sheltered them from the outside world as Sornieth itself underwent massive changes. Years passed. Secrets came to light all around them, magic changing and growing. After so much time buried in the ice and snow, the clan found itself unearthed by ancient, yet entirely new faces - along with their once-exalted founder, Thea. Though uncertain about the clan's future, its members have banded together once again, ready to face whatever new challenges may come their way. And through it all, Mika will do her best to ensure that her dragons are guided to the other side of the storm.

Oh, Warden! He knew almost as soon as he entered the Southern Icefield that he needed to come to our clan, that this was where his Search would end. He's been an incredible help in expanding our lair and seeking out new members from far and wide to join our clan. He may not speak, but he's really quite expressive! And, admittedly, I do have the tiniest bit of a soft spot for...*ahem*. He is both my personal retainer as well as my dearest friend. Emma and Hinata, my beloved siblings. Not by birth, of course, as you can see. (No, no my birth parents only had two others besides me - and all of them save my birth brother have gone on to serve their respective deities.) I was hatched in this clan and spent my fledgling years chasing after the two of them - and even still they will always remain my trusted confidants. Emma is a rather talented alchemist, and Hinata is one of our Egg Watchers, helping care for and raise all of our little hatchlings. Though Hinata never had any children, Emma has adopted two hatchlings that have shown great promise...Ah, though one of them isn't quite so young anymore! Frost. My niece as well as my second in command. Her parents spent some time with the clan before going on to serve our Icewarden, but Frost has remained with us to weather all of the great storms time has thrown our way. She has been absolutely invaluable to helping me maintain order in the clan. Where I am prone to being...verbose, she is succinct. Where I might get distracted, she is focused. AH! Our saviors! Fiskerin and Hope. For some time after we made it through the worst of the friction between dragonkind and the Beastclans, our clan's lair was caught in the midst of a strong blizzard...we were snowed in, frozen in time, and succumbed to a magical slumber. It wasn't until they unearthed us - with help from their own (at the time) small group - that we awoke to a changed world, a Sornieth that had left us behind as it underwent a magical upheaval. A deity, vanished and silent. Ancient breeds, awoken. New dragons now roaming the world. And the Shade...the Pillar......Well, whatever happens, we are here to serve our Icewarden. We will bolster our ranks once again and prepare ourselves to both protect our flight's treasures and secrets and guard the rest of Sornieth from the horrors we keep imprisoned. The founders of Preservation, Dirk and Thea. They were here in the Southern Icefield before so many, and though they still remain slumbering they will be here long after so many others have left. Thea herself once left us to serve at the behest of our deity; she hasn't told us much about what that entailed, only that she spent much of her time in the deepest reaches of the Fortress of Ends. Her reappearance has been the cause for...much gossip amongst the clan members, but both my strategists and my seers seem to all agree on one thing: her return signals a change to come. Whether it be an omen or simply a message from our Icewarden himself, I have yet to decide, but I do agree with my advisors. We must be prepared. |
