Spud

@foureclipse (he reminds me of a muddy riverbank and I went with that idea)
Spud was never much of an airborne citizen, sticking out among the others in the Windswept Plateau. In the Reedcleft Ascent, every member tested their strengths of flight against the strong air winds that whipped past their scales. Spud was forced into the trial by the rest of his clanmates but he couldn't keep up, spinning out of control until he fell to the rapids below. What should've been the most humiliating moment of his early adulthood turned into one of his most precious memories. Here among the bamboo reeds, roaring water, and fresh soil was a peace he never could feel in the windy skies. Down on this ground he could feel the ecosystem thrive around him; he loved how the water felt against his scales as he dove into the rapids, fighting against the currents of water was much more freeing than anything that could be gained in the air. He built a small abode down on the muddy riverbanks, gardening and studying the wildlife of this untapped ecosystem, content to live his days in a small paradise he created from the peaceful trenches of the Ascent.
