Pureblood Construct Vessel's egg was created by filling a shell of specially treated bone with Wahydra's blood. The artisan Verthandi created this shell with a motif of Slaughter. The shell was then sealed and invigorated with a spark of energy taken from Harkin's internal engines. When she was hatched, the bone shell was incorporated into the new dragon's body, becoming the heavy defensive plates which fortify her back, legs, and skull, as well as her claws and teeth. The result was the stunning sanguine guardian, Vessel. A dragon of animated blood with impenetrable bony plates to protect her graceful, flowing body. Next Chapter Though close to her sister construct, Haugbui, Vessel has always been one to wander. She does not condemn Haugbui for following her, but neither does she actively support it. Fate, for now, has bound them together. Vessel has always been a vicious and downright terrifying fighter. Prone to blood frenzy and predestined for slaughter, she has rarely felt at peace around living, flesh-and-blood dragons. Though she has complete presence of mind, some say that something is... Missing. Vessel is inclined to believe them. After all, only the most broken of dragons crave bloodshed. After many years of wandering, Vessel came into contact with a band of Frost-Starved dragons. Of these dragons, Carnage immediately caught her eye. The handsome male Guardian, spattered in the red blood of a recent kill, looked toward her with an expression of respect and awe rather than fear. Vessel, of course, was not fearful of Carnage and his lineage. While he would be prone to madness and/or cannibalism, she could understand his lust for killing. He, too, could understand hers. It did not take long for Carnage and Vessel to become close. Upon joining the small band of Frost-Starved dragons, Vessel and Carnage became mates. Haugbui, of course, joined the band shortly thereafter, refusing to leave her blood sister's side. The mixed band of dragons has been hired by a lightning lair in need of ferocious hunters, though their status among the vegetarian tundra dragons remains strenuous. The tundra people have come to call Vessel 'The Unholy Vessel', as her lifeforce is still a mystery to them. They avoid Vessel and the band of Frost-Starved dragons, fearful of their unpredictable and violent tendencies. |
