Personality:

Biography: Born to a life of luxury and fame in the Turrets of Goldsparc, the eldest son of the elite Klystron family was widely expected to follow in the footsteps of his prestigious lineage and become a high-level executive in the vast, sprawling enterprise that is the Lightning Flight. But to the surprise and shock of many of Goldsparc’s residents, rather than embracing the upper echelons of Lightning society, a young Raijin instead took to those whose fortunes were far less kindly - the very labourers and technicians whose hard work enabled the opulent lifestyles of those further up the socioeconomic ladder.

As he grew older, Raijin became increasingly passionate and outspoken about his opposition to the practices of the Lightning Flight. It was cruel and unjust, he proclaimed, for a privileged few to be granted so much wealth by an accident of birth or quirk of circumstance, when so many who worked all their lives simply to survive received all but no compensation.

Raijin’s beliefs drove a widening wedge between Raijin and his family, who found his ideas not merely unorthodox, but outright dangerous to their own interests and the social order they were built upon. Eventually, the Goldsparc Executive Board were informed of Raijin’s radical statements, and moved to arrest him on charges of subversion - but by the time the Board’s policy enforcers arrived at the Klystron family residence to take him into custody, Raijin was long gone. He had anticipated his family’s betrayal beforehand, and was already on his way to the Sea of a Thousand Currents before the enforcers were even dispatched. (But not, incidentally, before a substantial portion of the Klystron fortune was withdrawn from the Central Goldsparc Bank, and just after the Goldsparc Deepworks Labour Union received the largest one-time donation in its history.)

Now a fugitive from his own home Flight, Raijin quickly made his way to the western border, eager to put as much distance as possible between himself and the Lightning authorities’ jurisdiction. After a brief stopover at the Tsunami Flats, and a stay at the Shadow port city of Haze’s Wake, he bolted westward, scrambling across the Sea of a Thousand Currents and the Windswept Plateau on his way toward the Starfall Isles, where the Lightning Flight’s influence held little sway and where a Lightning dragon such as himself would be less likely to face discrimination (compared to regions such as Dragonhome or the Southern Icefield).

It was there, upon reaching the coastal Arcane outpost of Dwam, that Raijin encountered two Nature dragons - a Guardian and a Wildclaw - who seemed just as far from home as he was. After tentatively approaching the pair and assessing their demeanour and temperament, Raijin suggested that the three of them might benefit from travelling together. After some discussion, the duo agreed to the proposal.

A few months later, Raijin and his companions stumbled across an uninhabited island in the south of the Starfell Isles. The rest, as they say, is history.
