Biography
A naturally white Coatl, left to fend for himself as a hatchling because of his ominous colouring. About as well adjusted as you'd expect after being raised by a pair of Fae dragons, though this has left him in a position to understand them better than many other dragons.
"Moony!" Plume yelled, excited as she flew unsteadily into the den. A ridiculously large, fluffy bundle of feathers and claws dangled from her paws, humming in various tones. "Moony, look what I found!"
"I'm looking," the male Fae commented blankly, his fins tilted at the angle of 'are you kidding me' as he finished weaving his nest. "Put it back or so help me, Plume..."
"He was on his own," she cried indignantly, "I didn't smell any other Coatl; we can't just leave him to die!" The male Fae sighed in defeat, fins drooping, and fluttered over as his friend sank to the cave floor, letting the hatchling down.
The hatchling rolled onto his back and hummed loudly at the pair of adult dragons, letting out a sour whining note at the end. "I think he's hungry," Plume commented, fretting. Her fins dropped, twitching every which way in upset. "Oh no, what to feed him... we don't have any fish!"
"This sounds like something you should have thought about before bringing him home," Moonblessed rolled his eyes, fins rising and lowering as emphasis before they flicked at another more pitiful whining hum. "Guess we'll just have to feed him insects til we can gather some." He quickly flapped up to their larder, emerging with several large grubs. The hatchling had evidently been left for several days, seeing how quickly the food was swallowed. "Now where are we going to house you?" The Fae murmured, watching the Coatl youngster's crest begin to lower. It seemed to be a signal that the feathered dragon was satisfied for now, if the way he stopped humming so shrilly was any indication. "Can't leave you to sleep on bare floor..."
"We have some scraps of material from the scavenging we've been doing," Plume suggested helpfully, "we could use that as a nest for him for now? Until we can get some proper things. How do Coatl nest?"
"Why are you asking me??" Moonblessed shook his head, fins wagging in slight irritation. "You're the sociable one."
"He needs a name too," she mused, fins turning back and forth in miniature flapping motions that had a more playful hum coming from their adopted hatchling. Her tail joined in, wagging back and forth slowly. The hatchling snapped at it, though it was well out of his reach.
"How about Trouble? Since he's going to cause us plenty, no doubt," the male Fae sighed again, snickering and wiggling his fins as Plume yanked her tail up closer to herself with a concerned squeak.
"Don't be silly, that's a terrible name for a Coatl," she rebuffed, huffing. "But... he is fluffy and white like a cloud!"
"You are not naming a hatchling 'cloud'." Moonblessed insisted, shaking his head. She shrugged her fins, gliding down to the floor again.
"What about Skye, then?" The hatchling pounced on her with a playful, excited hum; she let out an 'oof!' of complaint and starting tickling his belly, eliciting a louder excited keening noise.
"Better. I guess it works," the other Fae agreed, beginning to dig through their hoard for soft things to pad out the hatchling's bed with.
