Biography

LapisWings - the home lair of Moondusk - here! This is not necessary, but I would appreciate some kind of notice (a ping, PM, or profile comment, for example) when Moondusk arrives to a new lair, so I can follow her journey a bit better. Thank you!

Uh-oh, looks like this eager Skydancer wandered a little too far from her home lair (#542411, LapisWings), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Feel free to add to this as Moondusk collects things on her adventures. Remember to send everything listed here onto the next person!
watermid.png
Grim Healer's Reference The journal Moondusk uses to keep track of her adventures.
(-#542411, LapisWings)
Simple Darksteel Necklace A necklace from Moondusk's mother, Harmony, engraved with an image of The Sea Of a Thousand Currents, as well as some text that reads "So you can always remember your way back home, where we'll always welcome you with open wings". Moondusk tears up a bit when she looks at it.
(-#542411, LapisWings)
Mage's Midnight Bag A bag from Moondusk's father, Starsilk, containing all the little trinkets she finds on her adventures, as well as the map he gave her. Starsilk used it as a hatching when he was just starting out on his adventures, so it's a little worn down around the edges.
(-#542411, LapisWings)
Sweetpuff Feather
A single feather. Starsilk, while he doesn't necessarily believe in it being good luck, has always kept a feather with him on his travels. Moondusk has decided to continue her father's tradition of sorts.
(-#542411, LapisWings)
Ornate Darksteel Bracelet There's a note attached it reads:
"put a good word in for us would ya?"
-Mestra
(-#546245, inkfrog)
Midnight Cape Upon arrival to the strangely Plague infected Ice lair of The Laboratory, Moondusk was gifted this fur-coated cape by its courier to keep her warm within the hoarfrost.
(-#361957, VuvuDoll)
Blueband Duelist
While traveling the Scarred Wasteland, Moondusk met a relatively friendly Serthis who guided her safely through the territory.

Notable events: Setting off for an adventure!

___Dad has always been one for adventure, almost always on an expedition of some sort. In the fleeting times he's been back home, it seems like his mind is always partly occupied by wonderings and fantasies on where he should go next. He does care for us, really, and all the dragons here are really nice (well, maybe except Famben; she always seems annoyed when she's patrolling and finds me on the outskirts of our territory. I mean, I know I probably shouldn't be going that far because of the beastclans and all, but come on!), but Dad makes the world sound so exciting! It's getting boring, just being here all the time. My claws have been itching for adventure, my wings longing to touch other skies. I'll heed Mom's warnings that she always gives to dad on his departures, of course. Probably. Maybe.
---
___I just told Mom and Dad about my plans. Mom was clearly a little worried, like I expected her to be, but was reassuring and hopeful for me nonetheless. Dad was a bit confused at how sudden this was, but he had seemed excited that I was eager to follow his clawsteps and see the world. He offered me a map that he had marked with a few notes in his neat handwriting about some of the different locations around Sornieth. I want to leave tomorrow morning so that I have as much time in the day as possible for exploring, so that means I have the rest of the evening to say goodbye to everyone.
---
___I am so excited right now, my claws are shaking a bit... hopefully I don't spill any ink! I'm writing this just as I'm about to leave for my travels, and then I'll be at the whims of the wind. The sun has risen, I've said goodbye to everyone, packed my bags (along with the probably excessive amounts of "just in case" food that Mom packed for me), and I'm ready to see the world!

Notable events: The Unnamed Lighthouse

After the tiresome journey across the wrathful oceans, I found myself upon an unfinished lighthouse. I continued to look around and met the residents of the incomplete building. I asked about my location as the Strom might've put me off track.
a guardian, named Mestra, explained I had ended up in the shadow territories. She then offered me a place to stay, as I looked, and felt quite exhausted. I accepted and, ate before resting. After I awoke I thanked them and continued on my journey, but when I stopped for a mid-day rest, I noticed that there was a bracelet with a note in my bag....

Notable events: Briefly returned home

___I was feeling a little homesick, so I returned back to the Lapis clan for a bit. Not much had changed besides a few new dragons arriving, but it was nice to be in a familiar place again. However, I once again found myself longing for adventure not long after, and so I set off on my journey once again...

Notable events: Trapped in a Blizzard

___Reports of storms aren't always accurate. I learned that the hard way when I went to visit lairs within the Southern Icefields. It went fine at first, of course. After visiting home, I decided that now was the best opportunity to visit the large glacier since I wouldn't have to travel for long. Of course, I had to wait until they said the weather was clear enough to go, but I didn't mind the time I got to spend with my dad.

I left on a quaint little boat and, sure enough, the voyage wasn't too long before I docked at a small port with few dragons to recieve the travelers. I had a nice, warm meal, had the opportunity to speak with some of the dragons there, and managed to get directions to the nearest lair. You wouldn't believe how quiet they tend to be here! It's like the snow dampens their voice just as well as the sounds of clawfall and wing beats. Either way, I had my destination and I was well on my way to the next part of my journey.

Something that almost immediately struck me about crossing the Southern Icefield was the way it simultaneously was as silent and barren as the grave as well as shifting and loud in a sort of musical way. Every time the wind would stop for some time and the sun would begin to warm my wings, the ice would begin to sing with the strain. It was otherworldly and magnificent until the weather shifted for the worst and that singing became a scream of rage within a rather sudden and harsh blizzard.

I nearly froze my wings off trying to find shelter and relief only came when a sudden dark shadow moved toward me and began to guide me through the storm. His name was Calathea and he made sure I was warm and dry next to his makeshift camp within a glittering ice cave. Some of the objects there looked old and worn, some were newer, and he quickly explained that it was one of his waypoints one his way to and from his lair. He's a courier apparently and had been living in the Southern Icefield for some time. We talked through the night, we ate, we slept, and once the storm passed he brought me to his clan, where I will stay for now. Such an interesting one of motley half-dragons, cursed, and those who have been ostracized for their powers. They have all found their way here in their own journeys and they say many pass through just like myself. Such a strange place this is.

Notable Events: Serthis raid

Narrowly avoided being captured by Serthis. I was with a small group of traveling dragons when one Serthis appeared out of now where warning us that we were in danger. They urged us to follow them into a secluded dell where we would be safe from a large roving band of hostile Serthis. The individual attached themselves to our company to provide protection from further raiders.

Notable Events: Returned home, to a... different home?

___I haven't written here in a while, huh? I've been doing so much I haven't really had time to write any of it here. Let's see... in very quick summary because I'm very excited to write what has been happening for the last few days: I've travelled with multiple groups of travelling dragons across Sornieth, visited multiple markets, and talked to so many dragons I can't possibly remember them all. All the while I've been keeping up residency in a clan of the Windswept Plateau (specifically the Gale Sanctum) as a temporary visitor, though I stayed so long - since a bit after my last entry here - that it almost felt like a home away from home. I was a bit sad to say goodbye to some of the dragons there, but I knew that I had far overstayed my welcome and was likely worrying Mom as I had never stayed away from my home clan this long.

___However, when I arrived home, I could immediately tell something was amiss. At the time it was just after the sun had reached its highest position in the sky, so it was already odd to be unable to see any dragons out on the beach at this time. There were no plants in Dewdrop's garden (the one that was visible from the sky, anyway) besides a tiny bit of moss that was just starting to creep over the rocky railings. There didn't seem to be any glass lanterns hanging inside any of the windows I could see, nor hanging inside the main entrance room. Upon dropping lower in the sky, there appeared to be a total of zero dragons. I was so confused, I nearly forgot to continue flapping my wings - What had happened? Was this place abandoned? Surely they hadn't forgotten about me? Did this have something to do with the rumors I've heard about some kind of digging expedition going on in Dragonhome? Why wasn't I warned of this? What even was "this"???

___I was snapped out of my thoughts by a shout of my name. I glanced downwards to find a black skydancer lined with bright blue rune-like markings waving at me with his wings, seemingly trying to get my attention. I was confused how this dragon knew my name, as I had never met them before, but I brought my wings in and dipped into a dive regardless, spreading them outwards in a flourish just before touching the ground. With a no-nonsense tone the strange dragon introduced themselves as Lavi, a dancer and performer of sorts for the Lapis clan. However, at my confused remark and where they could possibly be, he informed me along with a chuff (I think he was annoyed? I'm not certain, he was hard to read) that the Lapis clan no longer lived in the Tsunami Flats, and that they had moved to the Churnscar Wharf. Dad was leading this move along with a dragon named Seaside and thus couldn't stay behind to alert me of this when I returned. Mom had volunteered to do so but everyone agreed that was a terrible plan because of how terrible she is with directions, and so Lavi had been elected to stay behind as he was a quick flyer and could probably keep a steady pace with me.

Work in progress.

Write about Moondusk's adventures here! Places they see, dragons they meet, activities they take part in, etc. Write as much as you'd like, be it a tiny blurb, multiple paragraphs, or somewhere in-between. "Notable events" can be a summary of what happened during their visit - new baggage Moondusk collected, encounters with other dragons or places, breed/gene change scrolls used, if she was leveled in the coliseum, etc. All of this is optional, of course, but it would be appreciated if you wrote something - no matter how insignificant - before sending Moondusk off to their next location.
