Neo

An anomaly in Clan Animula, Neo sticks out like a sore thumb even among his more eccentric clanmates. Harboring an obsession with Second Age technology, the Banescale has progressively made a plethora of small alterations to his body, replacing scale with scraps of metal and glass found scattered across Sornieth.

It was in this process that Neo was originally found, Serena noticing the telltale shimmer of metal on one of her routine patrols near the Clan's border. Although initially hostile, as she is with many things, the Mirror quickly dismissed Neo as any kind of threat, noting that his focus appeared to be solely on his search. Though not usually one for intrigue, Neo's... unique appearance, in addition to his odd manner of speech, led Serena to extend him an invitation back to the Spire. How long had Neo been rebuilding himself? What secrets had he uncovered? At this point, was he more machine than dragon? All questions the more scholarly residents of the Spire would doubtless be interested in.

Although initially dismissive of the idea, Neo's tune quickly changed once the promise of more artifacts and other researchers was introduced. Following Serena's lead back to the Spire, he soon found himself nestled into the daily bustle of the stone tower's residents. Neo didn't bother taking up any kind of explicate role for himself, instead casually investigating the laboratories of other researchers and doing his own research in a private cave.

Despite his now semi-permanent home in the Spire, Neo still remains primarily isolated. Often he leaves on week-long journeys, searching for more pieces to rebuild himself with. Many dragons never expect him to return, and a few even hope that he doesn't. It isn't a secret that there's something unnatural about the Banescale, and even the kindest among the Spire's residents notes an odd shiver when Neo's artificial gaze settles on them. Even his manner of speech is strangely mechanical, lacking emotion or inflection. Still, he's managed to eke out some companions, mostly among the other researchers of the Clan, who tend to take an interest in him even if he only has a mind for one thing.

In general, Neo could be described as determined, apathetic, and curious. He has been with Clan Animula since October 7th, 2020.
