Biography

Spinner takes pride in what he does, proud to be a fire dragon, and studying this fiery power to the best of his ability. He is strong willed, and never backs down on a challenge. He is typically known to be egotistical and selfish, always blaming problems on others, even if he knew he was responsible. Dragons inside Glimmering praise his splendor, however they despise his attitude, and tend to try and avoid him.

Spinner passionately looks up the his deity, and has been for as long as he could remember. Not only did he study fire, he studied the home of the Flamecaller, strengthening his knowledge. He worked amongst other dragons with the same pursuit for many years, however, they too got tired of his temper. Spinner recognized this general hatred; he didn't understand why they felt this way, but that didn't stop him from leaving the space and working alone.

Ending up in such a freezing place was not what he had anticipated. First he thought of it as a punishments, being trapped in a world that opposes his passion, yet he realized that was not the case. The Flamecaller had nothing to do with it, and it was not a punishment, rather an award for being great. If only his old "friends" saw him now...

(...Tick 8.20)

Spinner wasn't one to wander outside the walls of Glimmering, it was a foolish thing to want to leave such a wonderful place, but today was... different, to say the least. Everyone felt so angry, so on edge, and he didn't know why, and he assumes there's no way to solve clear the tension. But whatever, he can just wait, and when he gets back, everything will surely be fine! Besides, a little walk never hurts anyone, so why couldn't he? Though, while he expected a much more grand sight, the surroundings were much more bland than he remembered, as well as being uncomfortably cold as well. It was like walking on glass, mirrors, ice, which was the complete opposite of an environment Spinner would appreciate. He was treading slowly now, head hanging down, his eyes staring into his own reflection's, starting to feel the symptoms of boredom. He stops in his tracks, drops himself into a sloppy sitting position, and throws his head up in a sigh, all before gazing to his left to see his deep, orange eyes gazing back. His eyes were a beautiful thing, appearing to glow like the flame of a thousand fires. He watches himself smile and watches his face shift from unsatisfied to satisfied, all with the knowledge that he is considered worthy enough to be sent here, a place for gods amongst dragons. He makes a small "Hm!" noise in his throat, and turns his head to his right, directly into the large, red eyes of a mirror.
Spinner gasps, stepping back with his wings spread out in shock, observing the stranger who was sitting the same way he was just a moment ago.
"Huh? What do you want?" He asks while wrinkling his snout.
The mirror doesn't react.
Spinner, folds his wings in and sits himself, side-glancing, looking very done-with-everything. "Can I help you?"
The mirror doesn't react, she just continues to stare. This dragon was massive in comparison to himself, but when you're a fae, that's the norm. The thing that stood out the most was the bright, eye burning, neon green that lined every scale on her body. This was easily the ugliest dragon Spinner's ever seen, and he really just wish he could tear off every scale and burn them into nothing but ashes.
The stranger's lips suddenly curl upward, her snout wrinkling, and creating a snarl.
Spinner looked insulted; "Excuse me? What's this ab--" the mirror strikes with an open jaw full of rows and rows of glimmering teeth, and powerfully snapped down on empty air that used to be Spinner.
The fae was now scurrying away as fast as his wings could, beating rapidly through the air and fog, shaken out of his skin. He's pretty sure he lost her, right? Right? There's absolutely no way a mirror of all dragons could catch up. He's wrong, the mirror could indeed, catch up. It wasn't long before Spinner could heard the wingbeats of a pursing dragon, as well as the deep snorts of said dragon. She was now right behind Spinner, he felt his tail smack the top of her snout, and next her hot breath on his back. He kept pounding his wings, ignoring the aching in his shoulders, and being driven by raw fear, refusing to believe there was nothing more he could do but run.
Then the light in his brain flicked on: fire.
The heat rose from his chest and into his throat, the sudden strength gave him the confidence he needed to turn around and aim directly at the mirrors forehead.
And he fired.
And she yelped.
And something giant rammed into both of them.
Spinner struggles for a moment, rolling along the back of whoever this was, before finally grabbing hold of one of their colossal scales. As the ridgeback flew upwards, he spotted the mirror fall straight out of the sky, a line of smoke trailing behind them. The fae relaxed, realizing that he was safe, the enormous dragon would never notice him. But to his horror, the ridgeback stopped in his tracks, and began to swerve himself downwards, chasing the falling and clearly injured dragon. It was even more terrifying than being chased by an aggressive mirror to watch the massive dragon dive straight down through the thick fog, assuming to be completely blind, straight towards the ground. Spinner couldn't see exactly what happened, but the ridgeback spread his wings, abruptly stopping, which also blew away most of the haze, making all the fractals and patterns of this place visible even from so high up. While he gently lands, the fae scrambles to this dragon's shoulder, though while still trying to go unnoticed, which wasn't too difficult anyways. Spinner watches as the giant gently lays the burnt mirror on the ground in front of him; the mirror jumps up immediately, snarling, looking straight up at the ridgeback. The fae ducks behind his giant shoulder, hiding from potential sight, though still raising high enough so that he can see the mirror clearly. She was... a peculiar character: the jagged wings, thousands of teeth, and massive red veins that pop out through her scales and skin make her look like something other than a dragon, but what Spinner noticed was that this new dragon looked nothing like the mirror he originally saw. But of course, what was most noticeable, was her scorched forehead, where a patch of pink flesh was clearly visible, which made the fae smirk triumphantly.
"Don't worry, all I did was help," the ridgeback said, making Spinner flinch and cover his ears at the booming voice, catching him off guard.
There was no response, only more snarling.
"Is... everything all right? How'd you hurt yourself?"
More snarling.
"I'd love to help you, but..." the ridgeback settles down into a laying position with a huff, "... I can't if you won't speak."
The mirror goes quiet now, pointing her snout to the floor, and immediately sprinting off through the haze before you can realize she was gone.
"Oh!... Oh... hmm" he huffs again, and once the coast was clear, Spinner crawls up his neck and to his ear.
"Hello?" the fae says, making him jump.
"Hello?" He echos, looking around.
Spinner chuckles to himself; who would've thought such a massive dragon could be so... goofy?
"I'm at your ear," he tugs his ear a little, "You're enormous."
"Heh, no, you're very small"
Spinner -- who was very uncomfortable hanging off the side of his neck -- climbs up to the top of the ridgebacks head and down to the top of his giant nose horn, where he could look the dragon in the eyes.
These eyes were half the size of the fae, a shade of deep purple, and radiated a friendly aura.
"Wow, you are small"
Spinner ignores the comment; "Who was that?" he demands.
No response nor reaction... oh right.
Spinner cups his talons around his mouth "WHO WAS THE MIRROR??" he shouts.
His large head raises a little bit, acknowledging the question. "Oh I dunno... somebody"
Now this... this was an incredibly helpful dragon that was absolutely not testing Spinner's patience at all.
"THEY TRIED TO KILL ME!" He shouts again, which received a slow, heavy blink.
"Is that why they're injured? You did that? hm, interesting..." is all he says.
Spinner furrows his brows and wrinkles his snout in disgust, forming a sort of "wha?" with his mouth.
"CAN YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT HER??"
The ridgeback looks in the direction the mirror ran off to.
"Nah, she's looooong gone" he exaggerates with a smirk, and proceeds to change the subject.
"I'm Whackka by the way, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Spinner wouldn't consider this "a pleasure," and he shows this by taking off, leaving Whackka by himself.
