Bluescale the Arctic Wanderer

Once upon a time, there was a dragon with scales the color of the sun. He was hatched from an egg that emitted it's own natural source of light, and was warm to the touch like a stone left to lay in the sun. When he hatched, his eyes were a brilliant pale light, and his smile was infectious. He remained warm to the touch like his egg had been, and his wings were covered in the softest feathers.

Then the sun went out. He was lost in the cold darkness, wandering to find the sun once more. His family was gone, and the sun had left him. He aimlessly walked the barren landscape he found himself in, slowly freezing to the core. His scales lost their golden luster, and turned blue with the chill. His once feathered wings dropped all their soft down, and left leathery tattered wings in their place. His limbs froze over so thoroughly that whenever he took a step more ice formed beneath him.

It took years for him to find the light again. When he finally did, an obsidian scaled dragon with eyes like the plague took his hand. It was warm, solid, and reminded the blue dragon of home. He followed without question, his eyes adjusting to the light he was brought into.

Though his sunlit scales were gone, and his angelic wings destroyed, the dragon moved on as best he could. His touch inspired ice, and his gaze was cold and unforgiving like the harshest winters. He was taught how to use this in battle, and soon he became something to be feared.

His memories of the frozen expanse covered in darkness haunt his dreams, but he buries them when he wakes.
