The Lone Pirate
The Lone Pirate
The planks below shook with every blast of the cannons below deck. Venetis stood proudly against the attacking pirates. She had just finished the best heist of treasure to ever get stolen from Lightning Flight's massive hoard. They'd hardly miss it. It's a shame they're fighting back this long afterhours.
Venetis took flight as another cannonball struck her ship. She could hear wood cracking. This might be the fatal strike for it.
She heard her first mate cry out. The young guardian was under attack by a sneaky mirror from the Lightning ship. Venetis dove down, using the element of ice to encase her sword with a sharp icicle, as she struck down on the mirror with enough power to knock it back into the rushing waters.
Venetis quickly climbed up to the guardian's head and gave him an assuring pat before returning to flight. She flew speedily towards the opposing ship. The cannons fired again, speeding past her. She knew there was no other choice but to use ice to stop them.
Venetis tucked her wings and dove down into the water. She then rose back up, leaving a thick layer of ice in her wake. As the enemies ship drew closer to her own, it smashed into the wall of ice, leaving a massive hole in its hull.
Venetis looked over the damage proudly and turned to head back to the ship to assess her own damages.
"VEN! Watch out!" her first mate yelled out.
Before Venetis could even react, she felt hot electrified metal slam into her wing and she was plummeting to the powerful ocean waves below. The water overpowered her. Her wing hurt too badly to move. She could no longer swim. It wasn't much longer until she could no longer breathe and she blacked out.
"She's not dead!" A deep feminine voice sounded above.
Venetis blinked open her eyes to see a blue and brown snapper staring down at her. In panic, she draws her sword and backs away from the snapper. A four-eyed tundra with sharp claws runs up behind the snapper and circles Venetis curiously.
"Should we make her dead?" the tundra snarls.
The snapper glares at her, "Chione. No." The tundra huffs in response and sits down beside her. "Don't mind her, she's just got a little case of the shade," the snapper assured with a calm laugh. "I am Namivath. The water spirits informed me of a shipwreck, I wasn't expecting to find a survivor."
"I'm Ven..." Venetis muttered as she slowly put her sword away. "H-how far away is the wreck? I need to find my ship and make sure my crew is alive and well."
Namivath looked doubtful. "Not too far, just off the coast of Lightning. I'm not sure if there was many survivors. The spirits don't seem to know yet." She looked as if she was acknowledging a dragon beside Venetis that wasn't even there. This snapper doesn't seem right in the head, but she doesn't seem unsafe.
The snapper and tundra had led Venetis back to a small camp with around thirty dragons. Apparently, a large group of them were nomadic and travelled the flight's territory regularly. Chione and Namivath were part of the group and were just about to head out the next morning. Ven of course had to join them. If she had washed up on Nature's shore, her first mate was likely to have done the same.
To this day, she has been hunting for him to reunite her crew once again.

Will likely have a more "blue" name with first scry, and a more thistle-like name if second We're going with the first scry~!
