Maxillary simply spawned into this world. He started out as an egg that would bite anyone who tried to hatch it, and when it did hatch, out tumbled a slimy, squishy, vaguely dragon shaped little thing. The dragons who found him weren’t even sure he was alive, and so they left him there until some unfortunate creature approached, and touched his skin. Onlookers watched in horror as it contorted out of shape, appearing to rip open revealing only a maw filled with teeth. The creature was consumed instantly. Dragons fled the area and little Maxillary was left alone. Due to being rejected from society repeatedly, Maxillary thrives on attention. He will do whatever he can to draw the eye, and he’s a loud and imposing figure. He’s surprisingly friendly, and despite his appearance he is incredibly charismatic. Maxillary lived in the Southern Icefield for most of his life, despite hating the extreme cold. During his time wandering there, he came across another of his kind, called Teef. He was entirely enamoured by her, and he stayed with her clan for several months. During that time he wooed her consistently, and fell deeply in love with her. When winter came around, it was record-breaking cold. Maxillary DESPISED the horrible cold winds, as it made his skin dry and chapped, susceptible to cracking. Despite his pleas, Teef chose to stay with her clan while he set off towards the Scarred Wastelands in search of a warm, humid climate. While wandering the Wastelands, he came across quite the odd lair. It was full of terrifying misfits and criminals, but somehow felt accepting and warm. Maxillary found that he fit in well and enjoyed the company of most of the other inhabitants. He developed a close friendship with Sinew, a mirror who was born without skin. Despite how he enjoyed living with them, he found that Teef remained in his mind without fail. Once spring came and it was no longer too cold for him to travel, he set out in search of Teef and her clan. He headed directly for the Southern Icefields, and after a month and a half of hard travelling he found her. They were delighted to be reunited, and as the weather began to heat up they moved deeper into the frozen lands. Maxillary wanted Teef to leave her clan to come live with him, yet Teef refused. Maxillary wouldn’t stay with Teef’s clan either. During their time together in the summer, they spent every waking minute together and eventually decided that Teef would come live with Maxillary in the Bleeding Lair during the winter, and Maxillary would go to live with Teef in her clan during the summer. Spring and fall would be spent travelling, either together or apart. His wife, Teef, is the only one who can get away with calling him Maxy. | ________ |
