______ Lucina used to not understand the Blood Moon Dancers. The strict social rules, and restrictions, the feud between Modern and Elite dancers... that never struck her as a world she'd enjoy living in. Sure, she *could have* become a Dancer if she wanted to. If was the key word, of course. She had the grace and the poise, and was the right breed, fortunate enough to meet the standards. An orphan, though some might have pitied her, to her it just meant she wasn't bound by blood or heritage. She was a blank slate. Always has been.

______ She met a Wildclaw by the name of Canopus. A dreamer who showed her the stars, and sang her songs, to whom she could listen for hours on end. They were happy together. Often wandering far from any settlements, where the skies turned more gloomy and the stars shone with a more eerie light. During one of such escapades that Lucina's life changed course forever.

______ It was one of the creatures that Blood moon Dancers fought. Demons, or whatever they were called. She and Canopus were attacked, he shielded her from the ambushing foe. Lucina only remembers flashes of that night now. The snake-crow-spider that lunged from the shadows, Canopus pushing her away and into the water. A flash of Periwinkle colored wings. An Elite Dancer, quickly disposing of the nightmarish creature. She did her best to help Canopus but his wounds wouldn't close, wouldn't heal. His magenta eyes were becoming bleaker and paler with each passing day, as if something was sapping his elemental energy. After a few days of getting weaker, he passed in his sleep.

______ That was when Lucina decided, she couldn't possibly let any dragon be endangered by demons. If it hadn't been for the Dancer dispatched to take care of that demon, Lucina wouldn't be here. That was reason enough, or, at least a way to deal with her grief. She'd occupy her mind with something else, she'd train, and prove herself before whoever she needed to. She'd become a Blood Moon Dancer. Perhaps even a head of her own house, leading dragonesses to protect others like she herself was protected that fateful night.

______ How lucky a coincidence was that there was a star in the sky, a perfect namesake for Lucina's house. Within that name was, of course, a grim reminder of why Lucina chose the path she did, but very few are privy to that knowledge.

______ House Canopus is known as the Sojourner House. The headquarters are located on a barque, which sails all over Sea of Thousand Currents. To most the barque appears to be an elusive, sailing lounge with dance shows. Those that aren't specifically invited often pay a hefty fee to see one of Lucina's Ladies' shows. Few know what lies beneath that fancy façade.

______ Lucina herself appears to have become very strict, cold, distant, and ruthless. Just like any other head of a self-respecing House, she expects perfection from her dancers, and is known to not tolerate anything less. Yet there are moments where a bit of her old personality shines through. Just like the light of a star that may have since burned away, though its light still reaches distand worlds. It's in diplomacy and negotiations. House Canopus is a proper modern house, and rules outlined by Colette are honored and respected. But Lucina herself is more than eager to make various alliances and make use of any talent that catches her eye.

______ Even if someone can't for any reason join the house, Lucina has many connections and allies who are more relaxed in their requirements. They may be sent off to such an allied organization, and join those that receive special invitations to Lucina's Ladies' shows. They might also be able to access House Canopus's other services at a discounted rate. One needs not be a part of a house to be in its favor.

______ As for the House Structure itself, male dancers and Elite dancers aren't treated by all means badly. They simply have different duties and responsibilities, more suited to their place in the House Hierarchy. Nothing personal, just the way things work. After all, if something works, no need to fix it, right? Tradition is upheld where it works, and rules can be bent where they no longer serve.

______ Lucina started House Canopus with only demon exterminations in mind, and she was reluctant to expand into other businesses, feeling as it might detract them from their main goal. From her Founding Wish. It was her Second that at first went behind Lucina's back to expand the house's business, mostly with dance shows for public and private audiences alike, as well as espionage. When Lucina found out, their fight threatened to tear the house apart, but finally Lucina relented. The sailing lounge is almost entirely managed by the Second, while Lucina handles negotiations and arranging the more in-the-shadows works, such as assassinations and, of course, demon exterminations.
