Biography

  • Eldritch
The maternal line would start with her. A dragon of deep blue and pale cream exoskeleton, who spoke in the buzzing, disconcerting manner that should have been clue enough to anyone that she was not quite Draconic in full. She was marked with the glowing green-in-black from which she derived her name- or perhaps which gave rise to her name in others, for she herself was not the sort to think in names.
Her eyes, that chilled all under their scrutiny, had landed upon another- and in her way, she convinced the preening creature to give rise to a nest.
  • Ultrazure
He could not have known what was to come. Of the dragons that became part of the hideous experiment- for it did not deserve a name like 'ritual', and it must instead be called experiment- of them, he was perhaps the least aware of what was to come. All that was revealed was a chance to create life, and life of that beautiful form that belongs to the great Imperial. He thought himself beautiful, and his mate beautiful, so he was prepared to share a nest with her.

He was killed in his sleep, the light of the stars in his gleaming hide fading as his chest slowed- his blood slicking the maw of the creature he'd mated. That eldritch thing purred, as the body slowly went through the stages of death, as it twitched and heaved in the boundary space of life and death. He will provide adequate food while I tend the clutch.
    • Kallidemos
The two eggs hatched; each child a beautiful thing in its own right. The magic in each was a corruption of the environment- but that was to be expected, when Eldritch had been one half of the magic-weaving that bore the two to begin with. The she-drake looked up with pale green, and the low, harsh sound of Eldritch's buzzing voice commanded- kill him.

Kallidemos, the beautiful demon, answered the will of her mother; the brother was killed with neither fanfare nor interest. The eldritch being smiled, as well as she could- the perfect heir, one who would bring death without worry for feelings; the magic of her soul was too fractured to engage in emotion.

  • Denebola
Golden, beautiful, a prize if ever there could be one. She was unafraid of her fate, for she believed it to be a sprawling infinity before her. Whispers of a different spirit, the threads of fate pulled by a distant memory

had met Cypress without much awareness one way or the other. Child of ice, the creature called Eldritch; it had been corrupt from the very start, perhaps. The idea had formed from the whispers of a different imperial, whose quest had failed- it was the same quest here again. To create a dragon that was pure, by cleansing its bloodline with untold deaths. What did it matter to a thing like Eldritch? It was the blood that it craved, and for that the idea was delight.
  • It would turn, later, that Eldritch was less keen on its own death, but by then it would have already formed the pact with Cypress, and if that was the case then that other, named Cypress, named Death, would hunt it and send it to its grave, no matter how it hid.
  • It lived long, and survived many of its offspring; but Death would not be kept waiting forever.
  • From Ultrazure came two, and with delight, the creature had turned on its mate, night falling heavy over his eyes and the endless sleep taking him as it pressed ice-coated claws to his throat. He did not wake to know he could not breathe.
  • It kept watch over the eggs, and when a she-drake crawled from the second, Eldritch consumed the first. "This, little one," she spoke in rasping tongue, "is what awaits us all. To be consumed."
