Magicsoul was born under the waning crescent moon. It is a Virgo, likes the color black, murder mysteries, and reading tarot. They spend their time in the hypnagogic state between the portals. It is a color shifting field at the edge of space and its inhabitants float as through a river, and it is just as easily they drown. It is home to the karmic lifeforms of negative space and the void of the cosmos that surrounds you like the pressure and scrutiny of attention. Once a dragon is given passage from the Sunportal they are accosted by ferrymen like Magicsoul who see them safely across to the other side. It is their primary duty to protect the sacred liminal realm from opportunists and snakes. Preserving the travelers is secondary, but no one knows that, so they are generally trusted and well-respected in Shadow society. However they leave no lasting impressions, they are fading like a late dream. The living status of Magicsoul is unclear. That is: whether it lives. Not undead like a Plague zombie, but not shining, or sparking, or flaming, or flourishing with life, or whatever else, either. They are lively. They are gossip freaks as is typical of their species. They gather everything on anyone and will use blackmail to receive favors from the underground. They have as many connections as dragons that pass from night to day. Having their pearl stolen they had to assume a new identity and have no memory of who they were before. Magicsoul culled its young and ate their shells to produce a new pearl. Their prodigal pearl is a gimmicky magic-8 ball. When shook for answers, the response it gives either sets or reflects the course of history. What it tells shapes reality. They are within a subset of pearlcatchers who evolved poisonous sacs within their lymph nodes, and use it to projectile gleek a slurry of gaseous neurotoxins when threatened. Before that, their first choice of defense is magery. It is less humiliating and annoying to clean up. His natural cowardice is a virtue in affairs with dangerous voyagers: he simply runs away, and traps their souls for eternity in the betwixt dimension. A proud Shadow dragon plays many games, but this dragon is not the one to gamble with his own life; he for sure will gamble with another's. While it is illegal in the providence of the sanctified portal, Magicsoul prefers the dark arts of possession, soul theft, and mind control. He uses these liberally as means to abscond the countless slimy situations he finds himself in. |
