Starstorm has been blind from birth. It’s not known why his eyes cannot see - there seems to be no physical reason for it. A few had thought that he was cursed because of the shape of his eyes, but for the most part the spiral has been either treated like a child or pitied in some way for his affliction.

While others have mixed emotions about him, however, Starstorm loves who he is. Since he has never been able to see, he does not miss that which he never knew. Instead, he uses other senses even more to explore the world - especially hearing.

Starstorm’s biggest passion is learning all about different birds; his memory and sense of hearing are so good that he can repeat any bird’s call after hearing them only once. Using mnemonic devices, the dragon can even tell you where and when he heard a particular species.

Because he cannot get around on his own very well to track down the birds, Starstorm has a tendency to disguise himself as a tree or a bush and patiently wait for different winged friends to settle on him so he can listen to their voices. He can spend hours, happy as a hatchling, being a perch for his feathered friends.

The blind dragon’s best friend is Ganix. The two of them get along perfectly on many different levels. While Ganix is not blind, he does share the same sort of unusual eyes as his friend. Ganix enjoys venturing out to different areas to experiment with his skills as an earth mage, so he is quite happy to take Starstorm along so that he can listen to different birds each trip. The pair of spirals are inseparable.
