Biography

A natural-born illusionist, Sylvia quickly learned how to inspire awe and fear. With an already strikingly sickly color combination, the slightest of deceptions — the illusory change of violet eyes to a glowing blood-red — was sufficient to make a would-be kidnapper think again. Due to a somewhat off-putting appearance, even a glance might be enough to make passers-by fear an illness even plague dragons might wish to avoid. It takes only a fraction of effort to alter such gruesomely pale smirch to give the appearance of thick veins overtaking body and wings, eventually to leave only bones woven together by rot. A similarly simple change, altering pale green to arterial red, produces similarly striking effects: who would dare cross a dragon, even a hatchling, covered in rippling currents of blood (which was, presumably, not their own)?

Honing awe-inspiring abilities before old enough to walk, Sylvia was lauded as a genius, a most cunning deceiver even in a lair filled with them. Rumors spread among the Beastclans of an infant dragon, wreathed in rot, bathed in blood, some kind of unholy mixture of Shadow and Plague — Death itself, perhaps, incarnate in the humble body of a fluffy baby Coatl. Whether Sylvia is male, female or neither is privy only to the most trusted clan-mates, and thus outsiders are led to refer to Sylvia as "they", which is the most pleasant pronoun one can be called by anyhow, and so as Sylvia grew, the rumors did also, taking root among dragons who keep company with members of the Beastclans.
