"Quote here." Often strange dragons are born. Mighty ones. Seers that have visions at the wrong time. Mindreaders that respond to what they see, rather than what they hear. Those with great power but not enough control over it. Some learn this control on their own, through practice and bitter lessons. Some are seen for what they are, and get trained by others. But most simply become outcasts, ignored, their clanmates pretending they can't be seen. And the fate of all dragons treated such is that they leave for another place, and are not seen again by their old clan. Deathwalker's story is not unique. It has been repeated countless times, with different dragons, gifts, and clans. Sometimes they do not even leave their flight. Sometimes they join its worst enemy. Sometimes they work against their old clan. Sometimes they aid it. Yet despite all the differences between them, all these dragons follow the same story. |

The details of Deathwalker's story are this: She was born in a Lightning clan, far from the Tangled Wood. Despite this, she had been gifted a power of Plague. Where she walked, things rotted and died. She fled when she was but a hatchling, called by ever-persisting dreams of the Scarred Wasteland, but she had no true desire to live within the diseased land. When she passed through the Woods, however, she became lost. And perhaps the curse itself did as well, for the dreams of the rotted land faded away and did not reappear. Now, things have improved for her. She has developed near-perfect control of her power. The dragons of her new clan are kind. She cares for the hatchlings and elders of the clan. Though she rarely leaves the lair, her friends keep her company. And she has more than just friends. She has Nikirra. |
