Biography

Quolas stared at the Skydancer whose chest barely rose and fell.
Too late.. She had saved the hatchling too late...
Hatchling deaths weren't uncommon in the Clan, especially if they were Clan born.
Quolas had found the Skydancer hatchling bleeding and drowning in an nearby stream, with his former familiar's half broken body nearby.
She didn't know what happened, however the claw marks that churned the earth around the hatchling seemed as if a battle had been fought over the hatchlings fate, obvious that the defenders had lost.
Thankfully, Quolas had been able to save him from drowning but was unable to save him from the fever that plagued him now.
The Banescale was no healer, and she knew nothing of hatchling anatomy, plus, he had been barely alive when she brought him before the clan.
Haunted, the current clan's healer looked at Quolas and shook her head.
"I can't save him. He'll be dead before sunrise."
The Banescale's eyes misted over as she watched the dying skydancer.
He wasn't even old enough to open his eyes.
"We already know the chances of clan-born dragons dying."
90% of their hatchlings died before they ever open their eyes.
Of them, 50% die before they are old enough to fight.
Of those, 20% of their clan-born dragons die during skirmishes with the Beastclans.
4% survival rate.
That was just for clan-born dragons who had immunity from their curse.
And of those without...
The survival rate was 2.5%.
Wildfire was one of the lucky ones.
Astronomical.
And that was if they are strong healthy dragons, not injured and sick like the Skydancer.

Quolas closed her eyes.
Could she bear look death in its face again?
She had watched her hatchlings die. She had sent away her surviving hatchlings to the Arcanist in hopes that they would live.
And as for him...
Could she bear the loss of yet another child?
"I know a Clan who'll be willing to take him in. Prepare him for travel as soon as possible."
"But Quolas-"
"Now. That is an order."
The meek healer had no choice but to oblige and left to prepare the Skydancer for travel as Quolas gently caressed the sleeping hatchling with one massive claw.
"Good-bye, Possibility. May you find a life in a kinder clan."
Then, she turned to one of her familiars, a salve kamitachi named Zen.
"Watch over him. Please."
The kamitachi watched her with intelligent eyes and nodded once.
A promise.

Later, a clan would find the sick hatchling left at their doorway, with a Salve Kamitachi watching over them and a small note scribbled beside him.
"Possibility."
His name.
That clan was the Clan of the Starseers, which found a hatchling from the sun, the very same day.
He was nurtured back to full health, slowly, but surely. He'd never remember the clan he once came from, but there was a blue locket from his former home with the words, Ink can't be erased. Possibility.
He'd wonder who wrote it, where'd it come from every night.
His clan had no idea, just that he came at night, when the stars aligned and a message was brought.
But, just like the skydancer's name...
There was a Possibility.

He grew older, and one day found a small blue locket.
"What is it?"
"It came with you, the day you floated on the river. It has your name in it."
"Really?"
"Yes Possibility. Go look. You can wear it if you want."
Possibility.
The last object from his former home.
"It's so pretty! Where is it from?"
"We don't know. Now go to bed."
"But I want to know!"
"No, it's late. Go to bed now."
"Fine."
"Good night Possibility."

Where was it from?
Why was it here?
Was there a home waiting for him on the other side of the world?
Days passed.
He still enjoyed the locket.
One day, he saw the dragon from the sun, Anasa.
She was older than him, but looked about the same size.
A week passed.
The clan changed their name, and their tribe.
Anasa liked it, but he didn't.
"Why did you change?"
"I'll tell you later."
"But you said that yesterday..."
"I will."

He was looking at the stars from the observatory with Anasa. Celebrian was showing them the stars and constellations. "Hey, why are the stars so bight today?" he asked.

"It's during the Starfall Celebration, so the Arcanist made them really bright today." she replied.
"Cool! We have to get going now though, but thanks Celebrian!" Anasa said in a slight rush. "Let's go now."
