Saffron's days of painting for pleasure are long gone; now there are bills to pay, mouths to feed, supplies to buy. So he works tirelessly into the night, honing his skills by candlelight. Art is the only thing he's ever truly cared for, and he longs for others to care for it too. Each brushstroke is a silent wish for someone, anyone, to tell him that he didn't make a mistake. That his art is worth fighting for.
