"It's always been mildly embarrassing for me trying to explain what this series is actually about. It's stupid and I'm used to people calling it stupid. Of course, I was 7 when I first started drawing the original characters, 9 when I started writing, and many different years where I added things and removed others, but for some reason I could never abandon it.
The machines are anthropomorphic cars, originally based as original characters stemming from Disney's Cars universe. I had two original characters based on our cars at the time, Grassly (now my sister's Jeep Cherokee), and Rudy (who has since been sold to a family who could take better care of him than my mom could have), the Jeep Wrangler, as well as my persona character, Jenna. Since the dawn of my series and thanks to their real life reliability, Grassly has always been an innocent doofus, while Rudy was always an unbearable jerk. Yes, Rudy was a jerk in real life.
The earliest example I have of the duo in writing was my second grade Young Writer's Contest entry. Grassly and Jen were playing with a ball and somehow Grassly fell over a cliff. Rudy, who had presumably been off hating on somebody elsewhere, showed up and rescued his best friend and fleetmate with his winch. I actually won third place with the piece, though I still don't think anyone realized I was talking about our cars.
Over the years, the series has definitely evolved since the beginning. I always had a "first episode" explaining the Escape, but as we got more cars over the years, I added more original main characters; Felix, Domic, and Grayson. Since Rudy had left our fleet in real life, he became a main character who came in later; similarly, since I was sick of editing the plot whenever we got a new truck, I added our newest IRL edition, Red, in later as well. Cars escaped Earth (as explained below) and all was good for many years.
But like any intelligent society, you'll have people who want to rule the world, and wage wars against their race. The same started happening within the cars' society; some decided they wanted to go back and destroy Earth for what the humans did, and others just wanted to own their new planet where the cars don't have a true president or king and everybody just coexists with common sense and intelligence. So, I decided to totally break from the original thought of this series being a simple spin-off of Disney at around 14 years old, and I made the characters start a privately owned military agency.
As a rule in their universe, cars are always somewhat divided by make and model, a primal sort of code that originated from their Earthen days of competitor models. Their brand is their identity and what drives them. Think of humans believing in their zodiac signs, only on steroids.
Every car in this universe is based off real car models (except for the rare Hybrid Models that come from parents of two different models), so you have the Fords, Chevies, Hondas, Nissans; Fords and Chevies are natural competitors, as are Hondas to Nissans. There are plenty of documented friendships, even partnerships (car equivalent to marriage), between rival models all over the universe, but there's always that underlying stale resentment thanks to the generations of brand rivalry practically coded into their processors. Each make and model also have their usual--trademark, even--traits and downfalls.
For instance, Fords of all models are known by their arrogance, and their tendency to march out and start cracking jokes about GMCs and Chevies in the middle of a GMC and Chevy crowd. However, when confronted, Fords suddenly become easily stung and run away, bawling. The latter is especially true for the giant trucks called F-250s and F-350s.
Rams, seen as strong and enduring, are also extremely stubborn and bull-headed. They are the only model of truck that adores to pack up with other Rams, be they 1500s or 3500s, and just hang out. Extremely communal, yet highly temperamental; it's well advised you don't irk a "Ramily Gathering", because they aren't Fords and they do NOT flee from a challenge. I'm not totally sure when I started just picturing traits among different models, but it mostly comes from how I see the models' communities acting in real life. Ford people just really don't like Chevy and Ram people. Ram people (like me and my sister and we're both in the Ram groups on Facebook!) are always seriously into other peoples' Rams, and likely have the strongest community of all the truck models. We wave at each other as we go by like we're Jeeps or something; meanwhile, whenever I'm out in my dad's Ford F-350, Red, absolutely no other Ford person waves. They give us stank looks, even. It's appalling.
It is probably not for some people (heck, it's probably not for most people lol) but my sister can't handle generic cars and honestly neither can I. So the entire series might come off as an "advertisement hell" with all the car brands and models. Don't forget this series wasn't really for anybody else but us, though we wanted to share it with anyone interested. Like a 1:1 roleplay in the forums, it's our story and it's not changing by anyone's request. Critique it all you want, it's still not changing. Feel free to join us, but we're just going to ignore the haters at this point lol
As silly as my series seems, it's actually far more intricate than you'd believe; it's pretty easy to stray from the timeline and accidentally mess up or forget dates, plot twists become harder to create as you start running out of new ideas, deciding what car models would become rare in their society and how they'd be treated was always a wonder. Like, should they be treated like endangered animals or scoffed at by their fellows? Should hybridization--and we're not talking Priuses, here--be a thing though it's been established that you usually get kids that are one model or the other out of intermodel parents? Is there such thing as too much conflict in a plot revolving around an extraterrestrial military agency? Speaking of extraterrestrial, what if we threw in actual aliens and turn everything into a Star Trek dumpster fire?
Personally, if I were to content rate my storyline, I'd probably rate it somewhere between PG and TV-14. It covers topics that Disney never thought to and can venture into the more mature side of things unintentionally. I admit I've thrown many an innuendo in as well, some I questioned leaving in when translating stories onto Flight Rising XD since I never expect anyone to read anything, I also love throwing in running and inside jokes, humor from the car community, and many, many obscure references that would be easier to see on screen than read in order to understand. It's an awkward cross between romance, comedy, sci-fi, and children's reads, but picture putting all those genres into a good processor and digesting the results. It's an acquired taste for sure, and I don't blame anyone who agrees! Even I cringe at my older stuff sometimes, as all authors do when coming back to their past creations.
Where cars don't curse the same words as humans do, the ones that had human owners do know what they are while most of the newer generations don't. Curse words are a running joke because some are just such comedic gold I gotta reference them lol. Though I assure you that you will never see anything worse than hell written out. Anything else is self sensored with the actual origin words (even @ss, which I usually replace with (donkey) because it's just funny to me lol)
The only rule to my series, don't ask me how they reproduce. It's a long and awkward story; just know it's one of the many technological advancements they've figured out already. You can ask me literally anything else that doesn't make sense, especially if I don't have a dragon explaining it already! Slowly working on adding the thousands of characters I have and tidbits from the over 400 stories averaging 60 pages each even when unfinished to FR.

How the Vehicles of the 3 Planets Came to Be
How the Vehicles of the 3 Planets Came to Be

"Once long ago, we cars served a symbiotic relationship with Earthen humans. Though we were dormant and unable to express emotion like we are now, the humans created us and used us for transportation, be it themselves, heavy machinery, animals and livestock, or other vehicles. Most did not love; it was frowned upon and seen as weird for one to love an inanimate object. More usually, humans saw as expendable, troublesome objects that were not worth time or money to repair. Yet, there were some notable humans that adored and babied vehicles; cleaned us up every weekend and modified us for off-roading and shows. They had consideration for us, despite all odds. They would not allow pets, children, or food and drink inside. They would let nothing abuse us without action or punishment, nor would they let anyone that properly cared for us go without reward.
In the spring of 2020, everything changed; the good, the bad, and the already ugly. The government had called for a world-wide ban of us older cars and trucks, first starting with those created before 2010.
Later in 2020, it was signed in and passed that anything pre-2016 would be confiscated. Finally, in the winter of 2021, anything dating before 2019 would be pulled and destroyed. They would round up everything on their list to haul off for scrap at our owners' expenses. They would arrest our owners for simply owning us. Then they would fine if they refused to surrender us.
All would have been lost if it were not for one good human who chose to follow the words of a Jeep she did not know who had come to her from a dream. Of course, there were others leading up to this point, but without Jenna we would not be here today. The Jeep and his fleetmates warned her of the oncoming ban and told her to prepare. They gave her a crystal that rewrote the internal programming of any automobile, as it does not currently work on planes or trains, that came in contact with it and brought them to consciousness. These awakened cars and trucks could speak, fear death, and love far more than any non-Jen human could, and for some time she hoped that once the humans saw what we were capable of, we could stay.
It was just not so. Living or deadened, the humans were persistent in destroying us all. Jenna rescued more and more vehicles she soon knew by name and by personality, and eventually she found a way to keep her fleet of friends safe forever.
A Goldilocks planet had become accessible via a wormhole that NASA had been preparing to explore for years. Once the hole closed, it would never be back again. The day the hole opened, their special ship would launch. Jen knew she had to take that ship somehow and get the cars to the planet in order to survive. Every country had one week to escape; we over in Europe were blessed with a rich owner, and he had ordered the found shard of the crystal that woke vehicles to use on us. In turn, we took the shard and brought all we could find to life ourselves, despite the bomb that destroyed my home country of Austria. I helped lead the way of our own troop to Russia's similar ship, even though we lost some close friends.
Despite our visible success, it is estimated that only a quarter of the original pre-2019 car population globally got off Earth. After creating an invention that allowed machines to reproduce, most of the classic models you now see are machine-born rather than human-made."

The acclaimed "Last Jenna of the Universe" will always claim she isn't nearly as brave as the former was, no matter who she brings to justice or keeps from killing her partner. Jen did her job; I could never do what she did while she could probably never do what I'm still doing. How do I know? We still get together and play legal poker on the weekends sometimes.
