"Must... look... like... her..."
The young Fae muttered under her breath, wincing as she pulled the threaded needle through the cream-colored cloth and into her own flesh. "Must... get... closer..."
The final part of her body uncovered by cloth was her tail, its light and dark brown dappling contrasting the varied colors and patterns of material that covered the rest of her body.
"Mother was closer... mother was closer..."
Raya inhaled sharply as she bound the final piece of cloth to her body. Using a fragment of scrap metal, she trimmed the edges of cloth that unnaturally extended from the tip of her tail.
Pulling her neck back, the Fae surveyed her handiwork and sighed. Imperfect. Her body was no closer to that of her great-grandmother because the only fabric scraps she could find were tan and brown hues, and some patterned ones at that. She had completed her wings earlier, and used patches that should have been on her body because she ran out of blue. In a way, her wings were more representative of her great-grandmother than her entire body. ***************************************
