Both were orphaned when she was young, and without family, they could only lean on each other. It was that exact dependence that led Silus to take up unsavory work, leading down roads to unsavory dragons and, in the end, to his vampirism. While she doesn't hold it against him, Lillia was truthfully heartbroken when he fled at the onset of his infliction. In his absence, Lillia had to care for herself alone for the first time. She was well old enough to get by, but something tugged at that back of her mind. Her brother had never stopped caring for her, and she wanted to pay that debt forward. Lillia joined the Alabaster Order, learning under Spectre's dutiful teachings, and vowed to protect the lost, just as her brother protected her. She became a full-fledged healer in her own right, with a particular knack for children. Especially the orphans. As the years passed, Lillia found herself naturally turning to ill and injured dragons, sometimes even before they knew themselves. It became a common sight among the Order to have Lillia approach a dragon, barrage them with a series of questions, and then hurry them off to her ward after discovering an early symptom of something more severe. When asked, Lillia explains that she feels every ounce of their pain, as if it was her own. If a hatchling has a cough, she will feel that tickle in her lungs. If a dragon has sustained a blow to the head, she'll have a pounding headache in turn. "It is a blessing, on one claw, and a curse on the other. I do not watch vigil over the dying for that reason." Upon Silus's return, Lillia strengthened her vow to her order. Now she can truly repay the care her brother gave her, even if she is all too aware of the pain he's hiding. Lore written by Nihilis |
