There are notebooks, often kept by those scholarly types, all meticulous notes and tidy writing.
This is not one of those notebooks.
This is a notebook that belonged to a dragon named Prisma, who eventually passed it to one particularly knowlegable dragon named Emerald, who rather hesitantly left it to a fae named Pathfinder- who filled it with particularly many illegible notes- and lastly passed it, with much pride and maybe some tears, to his daughter, Wych.

These are just some of the (legible, somewhat sensible) entries.

The Extra Special Very Important Super Secret Mission
[Trickmurk Tri-Riddles 2024]
leaLEvC.png
Febuary 24th

I was going to spend the day sitting at the pond staring at frogs, when Miss Corie asked to speak to me.
Miss Corie never asks to speak to me. (Which is not, because she's, you know, not nice or anything, but because she's a very busy lady!
...
And because I do not tend to speak to people much.)

I was very worried she was going to yell at me for scaring the frogs (Victor does not appreciate it, but I do not appreciate him stealing my dad from me), but she told me Miss Yaelle had a request for me!
I was so excited so I squealed a bit and scared the frogs anyway (not my intention).
It's been so long since Miss Yaelle has had a task for me! (And Mr Euriphenes mediations have been getting somewhat stale, lately (No offense, Mr Euriphene!))

Miss Yaelle told me I needed to go to the Trinkmurk circus (Why is it called that? I don't suppose shadow dragons are much into drinking? (I assume that's for water dragons)) and solve some riddles, because she is very busy and can't solve them herself.
I admit I am not entirely sure why the riddles need to be solved (Will no one else show up to solve them?), but I thought about it for very long (45 seconds) before saying yes because it does sound fun and I don't want to make the riddles feel bad because nobody wants to solve them.

So tomorrow I will go to see the circus, which I am very excited for! (I have never been to a circus, but they do sound fun.)

Much love (to both the riddles and the frogs), Wych

Febuary 25th

I don't have much time to write much today but I wanted to write about some things I learned:

1. Circuses are very loud and make me nervous.
2. People love cats very much! (At least shadow dragons do! There were very many cats present. (Are cats neccessary for riddles? I will have so acquire some if I ever want to make some riddles))
3. Riddles are very fun! (But they also make me a bit nervous)
4. It is called Trickmurk and that makes much more sense! (I knew shadow dragons didn't like water!)

There's a few more scattered notes, and some rather... rudimentary drawings which are likely supposed to depict... something, at the bottom of the page, presumably corresponding with the riddles of the day. They seem much more rushed than her journal entries.

Toy [...]
Victor
He must have loads of them (Why does he have so many familiars???)

My father always makes me spend time with him but there's always so much noise I can barely study!!!

Bells!!!

Go on field trip and eat many cattails
Save the bogs!!!

Cats are weird!!! But florons are kind of cool and pretty. They are alright

The next few days of entries follow much the same structure: Various disperate notes on riddles and musings about anything and everything (often including complaints about cats (At this point Wych has discovered that they are apparently a part of the theme), things to do in the future, her dad, who is a bit strange, and Victor, who is much stranger still.
Listing them all would be rather redundant, a boring on top of that, so they have been emitted.

March 2nd

I would speak about the riddles here because they are very interesting (and fun (Even though they have cats)) if there wasn't something much more interesting I need to speak about! It is indeed very important, and major and vital and key, so I should stop listing synonyms (cardinal, salient, foremost,...) and get to it with haste! (I borrowed that one from Mr Ayal!)

I asked Mr Ayal today how Ms Yaelle's trip is going because they always write letters to each other (Mr Ayal does, at least, and it always rhymes which I do not understand the purpose of but it is very cool!)
And he looked very confused! And then he asked me what I was talking about and I was very shocked!
Mr Ayal is very bad at lying (Sorry Mr Ayal, but you are very bad at it indeed) so I knew he was telling the truth and he told me there was no trip!

So I deduced very smartly that Ms Yaelle must not have wanted to go to the riddles after all! But that was confusing as well. Does she find the riddles that dreadful? Well, if she doesn't like them, why didn't she just say so?
Though I usually know the answers to most things (They are usually in books, not very hard to find at all), this made me very confused.
I always thought detectives liked riddles!

If Ms Yaelle wasn't busy, and doesn't hate riddles (I'm pretty sure she doesn't. I see her solving them sometimes.) why did she send me?
