B I O G R A P H Y

Reniana grew up with many siblings, and an insatiable desire to study magic. Even when a disastrous elemental accident left her with a collection of plague-red eyes, she still dreamed of becoming a great scholar. That dream changed when her clan was attacked, and she had to turn her magic to saving and defending her people. Although she saved the clan, she revealed the results of her magical accident, and her clanmates were wary rather than thankful. In anger, she left and never looked back.

One of the first dragons to make her way into the Cimmerian Garden's territory, Reniana was welcomed with open arms. As the numbers grew and individuals were given jobs, she wanted to claim the role as a defender before Ametris spoke up. The two nearly came to blows over it, until Cordius suggested a compromise: They could both lead parts of the clan's defense- Ametris's physical, Reniana's magical- and have seats on the council. This arrangement satisfied them both, and they soon abandoned their disagreements and became friends. Another magic incident caused Reniana to sprout yet more eyes and a cluster of dark feathers but here, they were seen as a boon.

Reniana dutifully leads her magical army, training them to deal with anything that may threaten the Garden. In her spare time, however, she turns her mind to the Garden itself. Attuned to its magic as she is, she can tell there is something different about this place at its core. But this does not alarm her- it makes her curious. Ametris has confessed a desire to expand the Garden's territory, and she agrees- larger territory makes for a clearer thing to study.

Perhaps if Reniana's role in the clan had been different, she would've been able to put the pieces together about the Shade and begin to resist it. Instead, her role as a defender of the Cimmerian Garden left her ironically defenseless to its influence. Though not as fanatical compared to Ametris, she is nevertheless a puppet of the dark forces at play. Only a great intervention could snap her out of what has overtaken her.
