Chillspike crown is actually horns (much like a pearlcatchers) that formed during one of Icewardens first storms (when Ico was a hatchling). Due to Icos idea of wrapping his tail and wings around him to keep him warm, the storm also created small, dull spikes along his tail and parts of his wings.

Surprisingly, Ico was born with feathered wings which is considered a blessing by very few. Given that most Featherborn were Dream-caste in his old clan (Dreams are seen as a portal to other worlds), Ico was sent to study under the most prestigeous dream-caste, to learn under their wing.

After leaving the Divines and their teachings behind, Ico is still considered to be a Prophica, someone who can see frays of the future through theirs, and others dreams. These can come in waves of deja vu - the divines see these events as signs from the deities that the visionary is on the right/wrong path, as deciphered by numerous factors of the vision.
