Biography
He hatched into chaos, with blood and fire in the air. He was terrified and unwell, so he ran away, escaping the notice of those who would have helped him. He crawled through the darkness alone until Lonan found him. Lonan brought him to a safe place, washed the slime off of him and gave him medicine. Lonan didn't require that the fae remain with him, but the two soon found that they made a good team.
Lonan called him "chief" until he was well enough to pick a name. He chose to name himself Eglan because it meant "forsaken" in an obscure language, a choice which Lonan referred to as "emo" but otherwise respected.
Later, more survivors of the event were found, and he was able to learn what happened. The place he had escaped was lab where unsavory dragons were carrying out breeding experiments on dragons with mutations, special lineages or special abilities. This included descendants of Naomi and the Shade-touched. He had hatched right when the Sunbeam Paladins had stormed the place.
While Eglan doesn't know his exact lineage, he found out that he was many generations deep in the experiment, so there are many possibilities. He has not yet manifested any special powers, having magic abilities typical for fae (low reserves) in Hewn City (less ambient Light magic to draw from).
After Eglan helped someone who then called him an angel, he obtained and used a gene change spell to give himself "seraph" wings.
He has a small body, with wings better suited to an average-sized body. Lonan is a fairly large spiral.
Morphology when I received him; all three genes could be interpreted as illness.
He has many tangled lines of Ignis and Naomi lineage. There was an image of that here; I need to fix it.
The Elk flavor text says "Favored mounts and companions to fae dragons, its antlers make an excellent perch." But the Snowfall Elk matches better.
Lonan is only a little longer than the longest IRL elk.
On the front page Mar 26, 2021. It was only then that I noticed a grammar issue in the second sentence. Oof.
