Encouraged by her mother to read books and scrolls of all kinds from a young age, Athame ended up gravitating towards adventure-filled novels and always dreamed of exploring ancient civilizations and uncovering their hidden treasures and secrets. As a hatchling, her mother and father further nurtured this interest by hiding "artifacts" in a sandbox for her to find or by intentionally breaking a piece of pottery and handing the mixed-up pieces to the hatchling for her to glue back together.

At the age of two years, she felt confident enough to venture outside of the comforts and security of Norwal and the lands of the Lightweaver as a whole in order to head to the lands of the Earthshaker in order to try her paw at Archeology. Unfortunately for her, she lacked the delicate touch that was needed to carefully excavate such fragile treasures and after she accidently broke a few ancient vases and a couple of tablets, the male Guardian who was overseeing the excavation gruffly suggested that she try her paw at mining instead after he had told her to pack up her gear and not to come back.

Since then, she has embarked on numerous expeditions across the continent, unearthing many beautiful and valuble rocks, minerals, and ores. She has found many treasures over the years, but she has yet to find a mate.
