Marilos
???? Optician The Intricate Marilos has always had weak eyesight. He can hardly see five feet in front of him because everything turns into an indistinct blur. Thankfully, he has glasses to help correct this. It’s also led him to using his glass in a more functional manner. He builds eyeglasses for others. Because of how clear the lenses need to be, Marilos is very strict on only eating the finest silver sand. Marilos spends a long time hand-shaping each lens to the correct prescription, to the point his eyeglasses often are much sturdier and less prone to breaking even when dropped. |
Every lens needs to be handcrafted to fit for each dragon, each whom come in different sizes and shapes, such as the guardian requiring massive lenses compared to a fae, or how a mirror must have specially designed glasses that only cover their primary eyes as to not interfere with their secondary set.
However, some eye types are much more tricky, such as primals' elemental hazards. Fire primals notoriously melt their glasses, requiring them to be built from the most purest and resistent glass to withstand such heat. Shadow primals must have specially made wipes in case of black goo spilling on their glasses. Wind primals must have especially secured glasses as to not fall off, arcane primal lenses must be enchanted to resist potential magical disturbances, lightning primals must have nonconductive lenses (For most primals Marilos had to enact a "NO CONTACT LENSES" policy from the amount of burnt, bursted or broken ones he got returned to him)
Oddly, the most easiest eye type are usually plague primals, who despite having numerous eye infections always come out with perfect eyesight. Marilos has no idea why the hell this is the case.
Out of them all however, the one thing that drives the fae mad are mutli-gaze clients. Often they arrive to the fae with broken contact lenses from the dozens of eyes along their bodies, not to mention records upon records of each individual perscription of their eyes. Allegedly, the fae nearly strangled Finnian when, after spending weeks constructing 3 pairs of lenses for the spiral, he came back with all of them broken the same day.
However, as long as one isn't negligent with his work, Marilos is happy to attend to other's sight-related woes.
