A certain dragon stares intensely at a shattered mirror... Hundreds stare back...

He blinked open his eyes. Dazzling golden sunlight flooded onto his scales, bleeding in through the rough canopy above him. The dragonet was confused. Chirping did the many birds around him, slither did the venomous snakes, growl did the predators, and hiss did the bushes in front of his tiny, frail form. Four glowing, menacing red eyes blinked at him, one at a time. He shivered.

A staring contest between the two creatures lasted for what seemed like minutes, before the red eyes disappeared from sight. Maybe it figured I was too puny to make a could meal of, the dragonet thought. Thoughts! What were those? So many things to discover!

And so the dragonet did, he went to discover. He was hesitant to leave the safety of his warm nest, the moss and dried leaves sticking warmly to his scales - but he did, one talon at a time. The grass poked gently between his brown claws, making tiny valleys in the soil. It felt right, it felt warm, it felt natural to be on the ground, the sunlight gently dancing across him. And so he left.

It took a few days for the dragonet to find anything that looked different from the days before. Everything was bright, golden almost. The grass was light to the touch and sparkled in the bright sunlight. The air radiated of pride and knowledge. The dragonet was strangely proud of this land, and the warmness within it. Though he had to leave, for something within himself wasn't sure that this was his place to be.

The place he was arriving into was the complete opposite. The land was covered in a blanket of darkness that pulsed and writhed at anything that came near it. Squinting his eyes enough to see through the blackness, the dragonet could see faint outlines of thin, thin pine trees, their branches a sickly purple. Though within the darkness, their was little speckles of light; vibrant blue, glowing mushrooms lined the ground and trees, eating away at the rotting life. The dragonet was thrilled!

He continued on his adventure, every quick paced step bringing him closer and closer into the darkness. He reached it, or rather it reached him first. It swallowed him whole. It took the dragonet a few moments to compose himself, blinking rapidly as his eyes adjusted to the land without light. It was gorgeous.

Through the thorns and vines, darkness and slime, was life. Maybe it was in the form of the dark purple grass that swayed in the unfeeling wind, or the dancing of blue fireflies, or the way the water flowed through the delicate streams, but the dragonet was grateful of his discovery. Though he truly despised the way the ground sagged and gurgled underneath his weight.

Next Events/Spoilers Below! (don't read please - unless you really want too idk) ~ color used is color=WhiteSmoke ~

1. Meets a strange dragon (Lola - meaning sorrowful -, she/her, spiral, darker colors with hints of purple, blue and pink, lavender eyes) .
2. Follows, trustingly, the dragon to her clan where he learns the meaning of names, though his still undecided (agrees with himself to figure out his name when he finds where his instincts are taking him).
3. Clan appears to be normal-ish, with the exception of their murderous ways.
4. They train Seren in hopes he will grow up to fight for them in their ongoing war between another clan.
5. Grow up he doesn't, he's cast out immediately when they find out his curse which he was oblivious to.
6. Angered and sorrowful, he completely obliterates the entirety of the clan in one night under the cover of his new found darkness.
7. Still saddened, but less naive about the world with his innocent nature taken from him, he wanders off in the direction he thinks is best.
8. He comes across the Scarred Wasteland.
9. Oblivious to the dangers of this land, but noting the smell of death, fear, and sadness, he enters alertly.
