Pamela is a sickly dragon of the Arcane element, but her magic came at a price. Being able to speak directly to the Arcanist without exalting is a wonderful gift indeed, but she is sickly and weak, ready to die at any minute. She cannot fight in battle, she cannot eat properly, she cannot breathe properly. Having a fraction of a god in your bones can do horrible things to a mortal's body, breaking down cells and bones under the weight of something it was not meant to bear. Her connection with Arcanist isn't always there, for he speaks with her only when she is well enough to withstand it.

Occupation
She is highly valued by the group called the Shade. The Shade is a group of dragons who have ill intentions for these lands. They are cunning, and unforgiving. The see the abyss as something that should have had the right to live amongst the gods, and so use the gods without their knowing to bring them back. She is their connection to the Arcanist, and she does it well and willingly. Her job is to spy on the Arcanist, who is known to be wise and powerful, and to keep him fooled that all is well in the world. She communicates with him, learning all she can to teach the members of the Shade, giving them valuable knowledge that will become a harmful and unforgiving power.

Personality and Mindsets
She accepts the fact she will die soon, and that she has only be able to live so long, but she will do it serving what she thinks is right and to survive as long as she can to continue doing it. She is focussed on duty, taking what she needs from others in order to do it and then giving it back without their knowing. She is like an old lady in a young body, or what was supposed to be a young body. She does not feel loyal to any home or anyone but the Shade and their goals. She was brought up by them, and will serve them for the rest of her days. She knows what she is doing isn't right, and that it is indeed very much wrong, but she owes this organization her life. She has guilt for betraying Arcanist like this, but she hopes that he can one day forgive her. She does not see a bright enough future to motivate her into doing what is right or doing something good to be remembered for. She has learned that time is precious yet forfeit. She lives every day like it will be her last and so mourns for herself every day. She is sorrowful, quiet, and pale. Like a blank slate or a dull stone.
"Just another pebble in the river," as she likes to say.


Backstory
She was thrown away as a hatchling, barely having made it out of the egg the second they realized she was sick and would need special care in order to survive. The Shade found her and brought her in. They opted to kill her, end her misery at first, but then one opted to take care of her and raise her themselves. That guardian saw her sickness and the gift within, and raised her as her own, trying to give her the best life she could offer in the shadows of the Shade camp. She nursed her, feeding her by bottle and helping keeping food down. It was tough, because Pamela could not eat or drink properly and countless nights of being unable to sleep, wailing through out the night, needing the comfort of the motherly guardian. It was a long a tedious childhood, but she survived infancy long enough to become strong enough to bear the curse of a blessing she was born with. She became hollow in the darkness of their work and felt no higher than those locked in shackles. She stayed by their side, working to gain just enough respect to stay valuable long enough to see the day of light above their dark lairs. No light ever shone through. Once beautiful, bright vibrant scales now sickly pale and shriveled. Her scales so dry and sun-starved they have become soft and brittle at the ends, like dying flesh. She walks with a teeter, her bones creek, she is malnourished, and content with it. She was forced to witness the death of the dragon who had opted to take care of her after she had challenged the authorities to keep Pamela a part of their group and after hiding the secret of Pamela's powers. The dragon's name was Omasha, a darkly colored guardian who had made Pamela her new charge and died keeping her alive. She vowed not to let Omasha's death go in vain, and would show the Shade just how bright her blessing was. After that, she became an advisor of the Shade, a valuable asset to their plans. She worked close with their leader, who was the mate of Omasha and as well as her killer, in the hopes to stay alive and to give them what they wanted, just long enough to see the glorious sun Omasha had promised to take her to see.
