Biography

XxS390Z.png
Pumkin is the marketing department and the ticket salesman of the Nightmare Bazaar, as well as the second-in-command. If Nightmare is absent, he takes the role of ringleader on the stage. But most of his days are spent hunting down new performers, staff and audience memebers. He lures in unsuspecting hatchlings and lets them choose their fate, by asking them if they'd rather be a treat or a trick. If they choose treat, they're forced to work in the circus as attractions, but if they choose trick, they get to join one of the supporting teams.

The group of hatchlings wouldn't call themselves hatchlings. They thought of themselves as adults, since they were almost at the age where they could learn how to hunt or be taught a trade that would benefit their clan. It was past their bed time and their guardians have called them to dinner long ago, but they have ignored them like they always do. Instead, they decided to do a little exploring. You never know what you could find hiding in the shadows.

Their parents never let them out at night. That's unfair, the next clan over had nightly festivals and stalls and music and laughter, why did their own clan had to be locked inside? It was a good opportunity to try to sneak into the neighborin clan, just how they tried every night. But this time, the young wildclaw had a brilliant idea. What if they deviated from the path that connected the two clans? No one would see them coming! The laterns on the path were so bright, they made the shadows around them even stronger.

It didn't take long for them to get lost. The darkness in front of them seemed impenetrable and even the little nocturne of the group couldn't find his surroundings. They were walking and walking, and then flying and flying, but the solid all-consuming void did not change. They couldn't hear each other. None of them knew if the others were having a similar experience or if they, alone, were going crazy. Touch seemed to still work, so they held hands and let the wildclaw who was the oldest lead the way.

Giggling. So high-pitched, so loud yet as raspy as a whisper, replaced their footsteps and with each move they made, it only got closer and closer and closer. A spiral swerved in their path and locked eyes with them. A demanding gaze that gripped their ego, their being, what made them a person, and pulled them towards him. They were his now. They belonged to him. He asked them his question, the one everyone instictively answers with "treat" and welcomed them to the circus. They would be the treat.
