Biography

Apparently the artist's most famous painting. You can't see the appeal.
It’s quite pretty, granted, but it’s also kind of eerie-looking. It depicts a white-haired figure--you believe they might be male, but there's nothing to base this theory on besides a gut feeling. He's underwater and most of his face is obscured by his long, flowing hair.
The figure is smiling, and for some reason that creeps you out. His eyes appear to be bright yellow from the glimpses you can make out.
His right hand is extended to the audience in a beckoning motion and there’s a teal backglow to the painting that is more of a green than blue.
Everyone seems to agree that it’s beautiful, but ominous and that there may be some sort of dark meaning behind it. What though, no one's sure of.

Perhaps it's the mystery that attracts everyone.
Quote:
I point in the direction of the main room in the basement level, room 8. We walk in together and Charlotte glances over the painting in the middle of the room and the plaque naming it. “The Call of The Deep,” she reads aloud to herself before studying the painting more closely. “I don’t remember this one…” she whispers dreamily. “It’s so pretty though, isn’t it, Anri?”

I frown. The painting is arguably even creepier than before, now that I know it’s dark outside, the doors are locked, and we seem to be alone. “Yeah, it’s… nice, but we should look around some mo--” I’m cut off when Charlotte speaks up again, still using that somewhat dazed tone.

“Look at the colors, so vibrant, it’s so amazingly life-like and--oh! Anri, do you hear that?” Charlotte tilts an ear toward the painting and I watch in confusion, before listening closely, too.

It’s water. I can hear the sound of the water in the painting. A sudden chill runs down my spine as I try to rationalize why I can hear the sounds of the sea when we’re a thousand miles from the nearest shoreline and inside of a museum. There’s something very wrong here.

-Painting named "Call of the Deep". One of the last paintings featuring Vincent, though it's personality is honestly quite twisted...
-Likes luring guests into the Exhibit, and seems to have a sirenlike effect. Wants to learn how to become "more human" by watching humans.
-Ate most of the other Vincents in an attempt to be more like what his Creator wanted him to be, not understanding that just doing that made him as far from a Vincent as he could get.
-Still, he attempts to please his Creator as best as he can. The more he tries, the more he seems to be pushing him away, however.
-Doesn't get along with the Man with the Umbrella, but seems to respect Mother. Bullies the Paper Princess relentlessly when given the chance, but it seems to be because he likes her and doesn't know any other way to show affection besides this. The way he treats the Creator is different, and he'll never treat anyone else that same way.

Charlies' Paintings include:
-Call of the Deep, his most famous painting featuring a white haired figure beckoning from beneath the sea.
-Meadow, a painting of a pink haired boy in an open, sunny area surrounded by red-eyed bunnies.
-Woman With Red Ribbon, a red haired girl dressed in something that resembles a uniform you'd see in private schools.
-Umbrella Man, rumored to be modeled after the creator's father. A tall man dressed in a suit holding an umbrella that hides his face.
-Untitled, a sculpture of two people melting into one. Interpretations of this piece of art seem to vary depending on who's asked.
-Mother, a series of paintings featuring various body parts from eyes to mouths to hands, etc.
-Self-Portrait, a painting of the creator when he was younger.
-Untitled 2, an unfinished painting of a woman with long hair. There seems to have been attempts to remove parts of it by the creator. It is currently being restored by volunteers.
-Untitled 3, a painting with only burnt edges left in the frame.
