"This idea of, there's a locked door;
how do you open it?"

Lore Written By Fennicfox21

You don't necessarily care what's behind it;

Everything is dark. Swirling blue and grey, emeralds and sapphires, ragged driftwood, blurred vision. Under the water was peaceful. Still. Quiet.

Just like him; Confusing, mysterious. Intricate. Just like the puzzlebox. Him. The puzzlebox.

Now his thoughts are blurred. Thoughts? Everything is confusing. Even the ocean, with it's overwhelming stillness, is confusing. Wait - isn't he the one that is meant to confuse?

But it seems the tables have turned, for Jellyfish is suddenly thrown into a panicked confusion, in which nothing seemed real. It shouldn't be like this. No, puzzle boxes don't think. They don't panic. They certainly don't question their existence!

Yet Jellyfish is doing all of that.

It takes a while to calm down. But the swaying green kelp and glimmering water calm him eventually, just long enough for him to tell himself to think things through. Yes, a nice logical method of sorting through memories to find the solution. That sounds like the sort of thing a puzzle box should do... If puzzle boxes could do anything.

you're just more excited about opening the lock...

He vaguely remembers a coast, and talons wrapped around him. Twisting his limbs into all sorts of strange shapes. The visions were blurry, for he was sure that at the time he had not been aware of any of the strange goings on.

Oh! A sudden recollection surfaces - lightning. Rain, and wind, so heavy and harsh. And then...

Then he was here. Plunging through the water, coming to rest among the shipwrecks at the bottom of the sea. Alone.

Something had been glowing. Faint prismatic beams of light, encircling him until a sudden flash brought him into the confusion. Everything makes sense at that moment. Jellyfish is... Something else entirely. A puzzlebox, perhaps, and yet he is here and alive and it is something to do with that strange light. Magic?

It's not about finding the treasure;

The confusion is back. Not as bad, but still heavy on his heart. Jellyfish must clear his head again, and to do that he must have some logic, any logic, to hold onto. A plan. The decision is made quickly but firmly, for he knows he has to go somewhere. That somewhere is most likely the shore. So Jellyfish swims, keeping an eye firmly set on the distant rays of the sun. His limbs are strong, reaching out in powerful strokes until he bursts through the surface of the ocean. Sunlit droplets sparkle in the air for a moment, then splash back into the ocean.

The world is... Beautiful. It's amazing how different the sky is from the muffled blue of the deep sea. This world, this new world, sparkles with life. It's alight with overwhelming brightness, and though nothing makes sense and there is no logic to the mess, Jellyfish loves it.

it's more about defeating the puzzle.

It feels like he's been waiting at the bottom of the sea forever - and maybe he has. This world is so different, and so the puzzlebox simply stares.

His mind is made up after what feels like hours, and what feels like seconds, all in one. He's scared but fearless. He's lost, but... He has a purpose. This world is too good to miss. Perhaps a mere puzzlebox like him being brought to life was simply a mistake, and perhaps he does not have a true purpose...
But in this world, Jellyfish will find one.

He always does.

Questions Answered; (Ask A Dragon thread)

Q. A Pearlcatcher, looking like she was raised in the Scarred Wasteland and forced to fight for her very survival, comes over to her. You can't tell if her clothes are literal rags or just very torn-up archer's clothing. She even has war paint on...
"Where did you get those rainbow wing silks? I want some." she says, surprising you. (SoaringFlame)

A. The ridgeback looks curiously at the pearlcatcher, his pretty gold eyes smiling softly, "I got them as a gift from a very good friend. I'm afraid I don't know where they got them from. I hear you can get them at some marketplace, but I'm not entirely sure where that is, I'm very new to... being conscious, I'm afraid." After a moment of consideration, he reaches up and plucks a rose from his shifting form to tuck behind one of her ears, "Here, for you. If I could get you some silks like mine, I would. You'd look very pretty in them."
